We recently connected with Angela Rosenburg and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Angela with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I grew up in a home where hard work was the norm. My mom was an early childhood educator who consistently went above and beyond to support her students’ growth. Whether she was prepping materials late into the evening or transforming our basement into what I lovingly called the “teacher’s store,” her dedication showed me how passion can fuel a strong work ethic.
My dad, by nature, is a doer. Even after long workdays as a tax executive, he found ways to stay active and contribute—whether by volunteering or tackling home projects. To this day, he still shows up unexpectedly to help with tasks like cleaning my window screens or pulling weeds.
Their examples shaped who I am. I’ve inherited my mom’s passion-driven approach and my dad’s natural drive to keep moving. As a nature-based therapist and forest play provider, my work doesn’t feel like “work”—it feels like purpose. That blend of inspiration, passion, and drive has formed the foundation of my own work ethic.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Treeline Enrichment was born out of a passion for helping children grow, thrive, and connect through meaningful outdoor experiences. Since launching in February 2019, we’ve created a unique blend of nature-based occupational therapy services and forest play programs, all rooted in the belief that nature and play are essential for childhood development.
Our nature-based occupational therapy sessions take place entirely outdoors, offering a sensory-rich, dynamic environment that supports children with sensory, motor, and emotional differences. Nature becomes a co-facilitator in therapy, encouraging regulation, confidence, and creativity in ways a traditional clinic setting often can’t.
On the forest play side of Treeline, we offer programs where kids can explore, create, and build meaningful connections. Many of our programs use licensed TimberNook curriculum, known for its immersive play experiences that spark imagination and collaboration. Our programs invite children to lead their own play stories while fostering social-emotional growth and resilience.
We’re proud to reflect on how far Treeline has come since 2019. What began as a small local initiative has grown into a thriving community of families who value slowing down childhood, embracing nature, and supporting their children’s growth through play. While we’re always fine-tuning and evolving, our mission remains the same: to empower kids and their families by reconnecting with the wonder of the outdoors.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, one of the qualities that has served me well is a natural inclination to think through business and financial decisions, even without formal training in those areas. I’ve always been mindful of how decisions impact both the small and large-scale aspects of the business. That said, I’ve found it incredibly valuable to connect with a community of other small business owners. In the summer of 2020, I participated in a business-related training for occupational therapists, which led to the formation of a virtual group of small business owners. We’ve continued to meet every two weeks for connection, accountability, and support—and even gather in person for an annual working weekend. This group, affectionately called “The Business Besties,” has been instrumental in my growth as a business owner. My advice to those starting out is to seek out meaningful connections, whether virtually or in person, to build a supportive network. Your businesses don’t need to be similar—what matters most is finding people who are invested in growing alongside you.
Another quality that has been impactful for me is my natural inclination for organization. I genuinely enjoy the backend work of building efficient systems and creating workflows that improve overall operations. Efficiency and usefulness are two of my core personal values, and they’ve influenced how I’ve structured my business. For anyone looking to strengthen their organizational skills, I’d recommend starting with small, consistent steps—like refining one process at a time—while keeping your overarching goals in mind.
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
One of the challenges we’re facing is the overwhelming number of options available to families. With the constant stream of social media and email marketing, along with the abundance of enrichment programs, it can be difficult to stand out and connect with the right families. Our forest play programs are genuinely unique and offer incredible developmental benefits, but finding the best ways to expand our community circle and share these opportunities has been a learning process. We’re working to balance thoughtful email communication and social media outreach without overwhelming inboxes or spending too much time online ourselves. To align with our strategic planning goals for 2025, I’ve partnered with a social media specialist to develop a more intentional strategy that allows us to connect meaningfully across platforms.
Another significant challenge is finding pediatric occupational therapists who are excited to bring their work outdoors and are looking for part-time roles that align with a school-year schedule. Our nature-based OT services are highly specialized, and it’s essential that we find therapists whose values align with our vision. The current hiring market for therapists is challenging, but we remain focused on building connections and sharing our unique approach to find the right fit. We’re committed to continuing our search so we can meet the needs of more families in our community while maintaining the high level of care and connection that Treeline is known for.
