Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Angela Ugboaja. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Angela, thank you so much for making time for us today. Let’s jump right into a question so many in our community are looking for answers to – how to overcome creativity blocks, writer’s block, etc. We’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice you might have.
I believe creative block is something most people experience at least once in their journey. The way I overcome or beat creative block is by maintaining a sense of truth within myself. I make sure to recognize when what I’m creating doesn’t align with who I am, my brand, or my expectations. By being honest with myself, taking time to recharge and research, and staying spiritually rested, I’m able to move past creative block and reconnect with my inspiration.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m the Lead Stylist and Owner of Acu Styles, a fashion company dedicated to helping individuals discover their unique style identity. At Acu Styles, we believe that style begins with one piece and that piece can be you or the clothing.
I offer personalized wardrobe styling through both virtual sessions and in-person shopping experiences, designed to help you look and feel your best. From corporate styling to every day fly fits I get the job done! Soon, I’ll be expanding our services to include bridal styling, bringing ease and elegance to brides and their bridal parties on their special day.
It’s an exciting journey, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Acu Styles and the amazing clients I get to work with!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Tenacious work ethic
I’m someone who believes in showing up and doing the work, even when it’s tough. Consistency and dedication are what help me grow and deliver my best every time.
2. Empathy
For me, styling starts with understanding people. I take the time to listen and connect, because when clients feel seen and understood, that’s when the ideas really begin.
3. Style savvy
I love staying in tune with trends but always make sure to bring individuality into my work. My goal is to help clients express who they truly are through what they wear.
My advice for anyone early in their style journey start by discovering your “why.” That’s your foundation. Always hold your “why” close to your heart
, it will be your fuel on the days you feel like you’re running on E.
Build the grit and strategy it takes to grow your clientele, and most importantly, get to know your clients before trying to create the “perfect” outfit. Style isn’t just about clothes it’s about connection and confidence. It’s good to be personable.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My spiritual life and my confidence in bridal styling have been the biggest area of improvement in the past 12 months.
I styled my third bridal party and under time constraints and still persevered. It reminds you not to allow fear or doubt to set the bar but to trust in your gifts and talents. Show up as your best self and let your work be the representative for your brand.
As I’ve diligently, used this year to seek God and read my Bible daily I can tell areas of improvement tremendously and the incalculable feedback I’ve received always reminds me to know the fruit is being produced.
