We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Angela Wilbers a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Self-care is essential for me because I give so much of myself to others in my sessions. I know that if I’m not taking care of myself first, I can’t fully show up for my clients. It’s like the airplane mask analogy, you have to put yours on before helping someone else.
My self-care routine shifts with my needs. Sometimes it’s as simple as a bubble bath, a favorite meal, or letting my inner child play with coloring books and a childhood movie. Other times it’s a Reiki massage, a small treat, or giving myself a full day off to rest and recharge. Even just spending quiet time with my dog, Mr. Ketchup, helps me reset.
As a business owner, self-care has a direct impact on my effectiveness. It keeps me grounded, prevents burnout, and allows me to maintain the energy and presence my clients deserve. Without it, it’s like trying to move forward on a flat tire. You won’t get very far.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Angela Wilbers, and I am the creator of Crystallized Heka. I am an eclectic witch who draws from many different spiritual practices, with a strong foundation in ancient Egyptian traditions. Through tarot, rune readings, and tea leaf readings, I offer guidance and support to those seeking clarity and connection. I also help people connect with their spirit guides, giving them tools to move beyond the ego and step into their higher selves.
One of the most unique aspects of my work is my handcrafted Middle Ancient Egyptian spell necklaces. Each necklace is one of a kind. I hand-paint papyri with ancient symbols, infuse them with crystals, and design them with intention. These pieces are not simply jewelry; they are magical tools that carry energy to support and guide people through the chapters of their journey. Alongside this, I create original artworks of ancient Egyptian deities, which allow people to connect visually and spiritually with the divine in a personal way.
Another part of my work that brings me great joy is hosting magical tea parties. These gatherings are filled with laughter, learning, and messages received through tea leaf readings. Each tea party is designed around a special theme, whether connected to a spiritual holiday or a specific type of magic, creating opportunities for participants to experience something new and empowering. They are fun, heart-centered events that bring people together while also offering deeper insight into their spiritual path.
I have also stepped into the role of a guide. I do not call myself a teacher because I believe magic is deeply personal and unique to each individual. My role is to share knowledge and practices so that others can build their own magical experiences and connections. Whether it is learning how to work with deities, incorporating ancient magic into daily life, or interpreting symbols in their own way, I help people expand their understanding and create practices that feel true to them.
At the core of everything I do, whether it is readings, classes, products, events, or artwork, is the intention of giving my clients experiences that inspire, uplift, and empower them on their spiritual and personal journey.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, three qualities have shaped my journey the most. The first is surrender. Truly trusting that everything will be okay. Surrender means letting go of the stories we tell ourselves to feel safe. Those stories may protect us temporarily but can also limit our growth. Learning to release them allowed me to step fully into my path.
The second is knowledge. It’s both learning and unlearning things in our life experinces. I draw from a wide range of sources: books, articles, social media, classes, and people’s stories and experiences. No single perspective is completely right or wrong. Being open to different viewpoints, even when they challenge your own, is essential. The more you invest in learning, the more you align with your authentic self.
The third is dedication to your craft and the willingness to put in consistent effort. Expertise doesn’t happen overnight. Even five minutes to an hour of focused practice each day adds up. Explore, experiment, and find what resonates with you, knowing your journey will be unique.
For anyone starting out, my advice is to stay curious, open-minded, and patient. Explore widely, question everything, and trust that answers will come in their own time. Be kind to yourself and enjoy the process of growing, learning, and evolving.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my mother did for me was allow me to be my true self. She created a safe and open space where I could be honest, even when things were difficult. She let me experience life, make my own mistakes, and learn my lessons, while always being there to guide me when I truly needed support.
Her example taught me how to create that same kind of safe space for others. Because of her, I have learned to hold space for people, to help them evolve, and to support them in being their authentic selves. She showed me that it is okay to be different, to explore who you are, and to embrace your uniqueness, and that lesson has shaped the way I connect with others and encourage them to do the same.
