Angelia, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Growing up, I was bullied and struggled with my self-esteem, but instead of letting it break me, I channeled my energy into self-improvement, photography, and makeup artistry. As I grew older, I found confidence not just in my own transformation but in helping other women discover their beauty through makeup and photography. Teaching them to enhance their features and embrace their uniqueness became my own healing journey. In lifting others up, I finally saw my own worth—proof that confidence isn’t just about appearance, but about the strength we build by empowering those around us.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a creative professional specializing in boudoir photography, makeup artistry, and astrology. With over a decade of research in astrology, I help others gain clarity and self-awareness, guiding them toward confidence in both their appearance and their lives. My passion lies in empowerment—whether through capturing raw, intimate beauty in photography, enhancing self-expression through makeup, or offering astrological insights that inspire personal growth. My goal is to help people see their own strength and beauty, inside and out.
I plan on getting back to being back on the radar this year after I give birth to my second (and last) baby this spring. I’ll be hosting a lot more photography events in-person and online towards summertime!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The most important skills I’ve learned in my career—and ones I believe anyone wanting to do similar work should develop—are artistic and technical expertise, empathy and communication, and analytical yet intuitive insight. Mastering photography, lighting, posing, and makeup artistry allows me to create visually stunning work that enhances confidence. Equally important is the ability to connect with clients on a personal level, making them feel comfortable and empowered in their own skin. Finally, my deep understanding of astrology, combined with intuition, helps me provide clarity and guidance that resonates with others. These skills together allow me to help others feel beautiful, confident, and aligned in both their appearance and in their personal lives.
If you are early in your career, don’t be afraid of asking for help or advice. Biggest one is do not avoid change. Change is inevitable and truly beautiful once you embrace it. My career looks nothing like I thought it would when I began over 10 years ago and I’ve had to start over a couple of times but I’ve never given up doing what I love. I may have taken breaks, but sometimes we all need a break for our creative brains to gain inspiration!
