Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Angelica Ramirez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Angelica, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
My purpose is strongly tied to my lived trauma, pain and a great deal of suffering I have experienced through out my life. My purpose has turned the ashes of my pain into beauty. I lived a great deal of trauma since childhood and more during adulthood. Never did I imagine a time that I would share with conviction that I was clear of the purpose for my life. It can be absolutely overwhelming to navigate the actual reason why you were created and the reason you are here on earth. More so, if you have only known suffering and pain. I’m fortunate to have a strong spiritual faith. It was through a life of faith that I was able to have hope for a better day when there wasn’t one in sight.
God was able to transform my wounds into scars and my trauma into healed experiences to support other individuals in their healing journeys. There is ultimately so much strength in knowing someone with lived experience can extend a supportive hand during your suffering and dark times. Most importantly, that there is someone that understands what you are experiencing or the pain you’ve lived.
Six years ago I learned my purpose when God gifted me with Vessel of Life, Inc (www.vesseloflife.org). Vessel of Life, Inc. is a non profit organization committed to supporting the healing of individuals that have survived sexual abuse, domestic violence and/or any other kind of trauma so that they can reach the full potential that God has purposed for their lives. While it was unexpected that God would guide my healing journey, it is gratifying to see how the darkest times of my life are used by God to facilitate the healing of others.
Overall, my purpose is connected to the darkest times of my life, pain and trauma. However, to find my purpose, I first had to begin my own personal healing journey from child sexual abuse, domestic violence and so much more. Healing and a life with God are life long journeys. My purpose fully manifested in my life in my healing journey. Today, I’m the Founder and President of Vessel of Life, Inc. a non profit that is committed to healing. I’m eternally grateful to be at a joyous place in my life where my purpose provides encouragement and hope to individuals in pain and living in darkness.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have the honor to be the Founder and President of Vessel of Life, Inc. A non profit organization committed to facilitating the healing journey of individuals that are survivors of childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence and/or trauma so that they can reach the purpose God has for their lives. This organization offers virtual healing groups, in-person and virtual conferences, educational session and 1:1 support and prayer as needed. Please visit www.vesseloflife.org for more information.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Faith- My faith in God was essential in providing me the strength, hope and love to begin and continue in my healing journey. 2. Resilience- After experiencing such suffering, trauma, dark times in my life and pain, resilience through the hardest times in my life was important. Today, that resilience allows me to see challenges as opportunities and ultimately not give up.
3. Love- I have a heart and love for the hurting. This quality allows me to see the best in people. To want the best for people. To allow myself to be used as an instrument of God to extend God’s love to those that are hurting.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m looking to collaborate with organizations that provide supportive and/or other services to individuals that are interested in healing from sexual and/or any kind of trauma. There collaborations and partnership will allow Vessel of Life the opportunity to expand services, reach many individuals in need of healing and collaborate on many activities through out the United States.
