Meet Angelina Morla

We recently connected with Angelina Morla and have shared our conversation below.

Angelina, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

My optimism is a fundamental aspect of who I am, shaped by various key experiences in my life. Growing up, I faced numerous challenges that taught me the value of resilience and the power of a positive mindset. Additionally, I have always been inspired by stories of individuals who overcame significant obstacles to achieve their goals, reinforcing my belief in the potential for positive outcomes.

Thank God I was born with an optimistic spirit. From a very young age and over the long run, I have enjoyed educating myself through reading books, listening to podcasts, and watching interviews. These activities have helped me navigate difficult situations and find solutions to every problem. I strongly believe in the power of the mind, which is why it is imperative that I feed my brain with positive input. I often compare the brain to someone who wants to get fit: you need to constantly exercise and nourish it. This also includes filtering what I allow into my mind.

My optimism is also rooted in my belief in continuous learning and growth. I see every experience, whether positive or negative, as an opportunity to learn and improve. This perspective helps me stay motivated and forward-looking, even when facing setbacks.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I studied Marketing and Publicity at university in Ecuador before pursuing a career in Interior Design. I’ve always thrived managing multiple responsibilities, which led me to leave Ecuador 22 years ago in search of new opportunities and avenues for learning. Upon arriving in the United States, I furthered my education by taking classes in painting techniques and sewing.

In 2012, I had the privilege of participating in an exhibition at Art Basel with Professor Lazaro Amaral. This experience inspired me to create something unique, blending fashion and art. I crafted a collection of Ponchos and Scarves with a Pop Art twist, transforming them into artistic pieces. Following this success, I held my second exhibition in January 2013 at the Art Center of Coconut Grove.

My passion for painting and fashion ignited my creativity, leading me to co-found A-9 Espadrilles with my business partner, Karina Tama. A-9 “Believe in Yourself…Be Yourself” is dedicated to all dreamers who realize that our dreams are attainable, no matter the timing. When you believe in something, the right moment will come.

In addition to fashion, I began designing bomber jackets and t-shirts, and even ventured into writing short fictional drama novels. One of my novels, “Frances,” continues to sell on Amazon to this day.

Eight years ago, I shifted my focus to the remodeling business and recently transitioned A-9 fashion into interior design, reigniting my initial passion. I am committed to continuously reinventing myself by embracing new techniques and styles, seeking personal growth and new business opportunities. These are just the initial stages of A-9 Interior Design.

I am deeply grateful for God’s blessings and the opportunities life has presented me. Above all, I believe in never ceasing to dream, as “the day I stop dreaming is the day I cease to live.”

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back at my journey, three qualities that have been most impactful are perseverance, discipline, and embracing challenges.
Firstly, perseverance has been crucial. Throughout my career, I’ve faced numerous obstacles and setbacks, but my determination to keep pushing forward has allowed me to overcome them and achieve my goals. It’s about not giving up when faced with adversity and staying committed to my vision.
Secondly, discipline has played a significant role. Maintaining a disciplined approach in my work ethic, time management, and personal development has been key to my success. It has enabled me to stay focused on my priorities and consistently strive for improvement.
Lastly, I’ve always embraced challenges as opportunities for growth. Instead of being intimidated by difficulties, I’ve approached them with a positive mindset, seeing them as chances to learn and develop new skills. This mindset has fueled my personal and professional growth, pushing me to continually expand my knowledge and abilities.
Patience is essential because success doesn’t happen overnight. Good things take time. Clarify your objectives and commit to self-education. Most importantly, believe in yourself. Ignore others’ opinions and distractions—many will doubt you or question your path but stay focused. If you’re passionate about your work, persevere through setbacks. Falling down is part of the journey; what matters is getting back up.
I’m proud to have ignored negative comments about my projects and goals because I’ve achieved what I set out to do. To succeed, set yourself apart from the crowd. Pour your passion and dedication into your work; this is what will make your product or business unique and competitive. In conclusion, early in your journey, focus on developing patience, clarity in your objectives, continuous learning, and unwavering self-belief. Embrace challenges as opportunities to grow and differentiate yourself from the crowd. Remember, success comes to those who persevere and refuse to let setbacks deter them.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am currently seeking collaborators and investors who are enthusiastic about pioneering new and innovative construction projects. Specifically, I am focused on creating housing solutions in Miami that cater to the evolving needs of today’s generation. These include lifestyle changes that have become prominent post-2020, such as the rise of remote work and the demand for more flexible living spaces.

I am looking to partner with individuals or organizations who share a passion for revolutionizing residential developments. Together, we can bring fresh ideas and concepts to the Miami housing market, addressing the needs and preferences of modern urban dwellers. Whether it’s designing eco-friendly, sustainable homes or integrating smart technologies, I am eager to collaborate with forward-thinkers who are committed to pushing the boundaries of traditional construction methods.

If you are interested in discussing potential partnerships or learning more about my projects, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can connect with me via email [email protected]. I am excited to explore opportunities for collaboration and to work together on creating the future of housing in Miami.
