Meet Angelique Ramirez

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Angelique Ramirez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Angelique below.

Hi Angelique , so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
The best way to overcome this is by taking a look at what you have created! You might see other places that sell the exact same thing and that’s a little intimidating but take a look at the beautiful creations you have made all on your own! Sometimes it’s hard to not compare yourself to others but all you have to do is take a step back and realize that the only competition you have is your own self and thinking about what to make next all on your own!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
The best part of my business is when I get new orders! This might be every business owners favorite part but it is my favorite because I get to make the creations come to life! The art itself takes a lot of practice and patience because you run in to a lot of bumps along the way and it becomes lots of trial and error but at the very end when it comes together you can’t help but to smile! We have officially made it into creating shirts, cups and other designs! With each new accomplishment we learns and grow a little more every time!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would say the biggest helper of them all is the internet! Use that as an advantage to learn more about your craft to practice and practice and practice some more before you perfect your craft! Trust me it isn’t easy trying to learn something new or maybe it is to you but either way all you have to do is go for it!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The biggest helper I have is my husband! He has helped me so much when it comes to trial and error we learn together. He has always been the first to try all my new creation gadgets and trust me it has never been a piece of cake! He pushes me to perfect every craft I create and he is my biggest critique on how to change and improve them!
