Meet Anisa Turner

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anisa Turner a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Anisa , you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

Honestly, it’s the way my mom raised me. She was a single mom, I mean I had my step dad since I was 2. And my dad was on and off in my life but my mom really did her big one raising me and my brother. I was raised off love I know the readers hear me say that a lot but if you know you know.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am Ace, I’m from the DMV area for those who are not familiar that is DC, Maryland, Virginia. I was born and raised in Virginia. I started out putting shows together in high school and promoting for Go-Go bands. Then I started managing artists. I fell in love with it and stuck to it. Now I consider myself an A&R based off the connections I’ve made over the years I am able to provide whatever an artist and sometimes an influencer needs. One call and we can make a lot of life changing things happen. I also fix credit on the side and make graphics, website, ect. I really just love helping people. My newest venture is working with a new label out of the Calabasas ran by George Foreman III and a friend of mine QdaPlug. And I’m also working the after parties for DeeBaby and friends on the Masa tour.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I would say strong work ethic, discipline, and the ability to network. Atleast that has reallllly been a big part of my journey and has really helped me. If you can communicate and network you go a long ways in this industry. But you have to have discipline if not you will lose yourself, like most do when they get into this industry.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

Making sure my kids future is set. Start businesses for them. Invest in things I know will bring them great fortune. Prepare them for greatness really.
