Meet Anissa Perez

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anissa Perez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Anissa, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I’d like to say my purpose came to me in my late twenties, found me when I was approaching rock bottom for what felt like the fifth time. However, the truth of the matter is, my purpose was always there, lying dormant in the depths of my soul. As a child, I was deeply taken by poetry and Greek mythology. I would read into stories that not only allowed me to escape, but also gave life meaning. I would write in my journal for hours on end, releasing what I could no longer hold in. Then, somehow, someway, I got washed away by society. I allowed the expectations of others to dictate who I was going to be. For a whole decade, my purpose was nothing but a blur, so far away from the surface. Until my late twenties, when life kicked me down harder than ever before (in Astrology, we call it a Saturn return). I quickly realized how I desperately needed those outlets to anchor me in life. I started studying Astrology, I started studying Aesthetics, I wrote in my journal for days at a time. I put those pages together and wrote my first book. One day, it just clicked for me: I was healing and that was also healing the world. I could heal myself and share my journey and skills with others along the way. I could help the collective in a grand way. What served as my backbone during my darkest days was going to provide someone else light. I couldn’t think of a more beautiful realization, a more beautiful purpose. My calling never stopped calling. I just finally stopped muting the ringer and decided to grow the courage to pick up the phone.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My business, Anissa on Venus, came to me slowly. Four years ago, I started as a Lash Tech, where I built a small community of women. I was known as Lash Leo, devoted to aesthetics and the connections I made with these women. Lash appointments rapidly became therapy sessions for both the clients and I, which made me realize how much people really valued and trusted my guidance. I wanted more than anything for that to expand. I wanted to learn more and offer more to my community. I wanted to use all of my gifts. In January 2024, I published my first poetry book and started reaching people in a way I never thought possible. In November 2024, I registered for both Aesthetics school as well as an Astrology program. Shortly after, I became Anissa on Venus. Venus is the planet of love, beauty and pleasure. My books serving as the rawest love I can contribute to my community. Aesthetic services representing a phrase I live by: “Self-care is non-negotiable. You must first take care of yourself.” Lastly, pleasure being all things society finds taboo: Astrology, Tarot and spiritual healing. I would say the Esotericism portion of my business is what excites me most. There is nothing I am more passionate about than helping others understand themselves deeper, giving meaning to specific life experiences, holding space for healing, with the guidance of Astrology and other sciences. I am also officially offering intimate group workshops, 1:1 sessions and workbooks for those looking to take their healing journey a step further.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I think the three most impactful skills on my journey were consistency, releasing perfectionism, and authenticity.
For folks who are early in their journey, I would say in order to honor these qualities, it important to know creation and inspiration will come in waves. You can ride the wave until it crashes, but when it does, listen to your body and intuition when it is asking for rest. Avoid outside noise or influence. The wave will find its way back because you stayed true to yourself.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?

I think it is best to jump in the deep end! There is no better coach than the life experiences you will gain on the journey as an entrepreneur. The people you meet only because you put yourself out there. There will always be more courses to take, more credentials to acquire. Why hide the skills you already do have from the world? The world needs those too. The time is now.

Before launching my website, I kept finding excuses as to why I wasn’t ready, or professional enough or tech savvy enough, etc. I kept saying things like “Next year! One more year!” I realized I was simply feeding my imposter syndrome more fuel. One day, my alignment coach asked me, “Why not now?” And I genuinely did not have an answer that didn’t sound like an excuse. So, shortly after, (using Astrology, of course) I picked a date and launched my website. It has taken off since and I’ve learned so much along the way. I am a firm believer you just have to go for it!
