Meet Anita Robertson Peters

We recently connected with Anita Robertson Peters and have shared our conversation below.

Anita Robertson , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

Being the only one in the room has not caused me to keep moving forward. I have faced adversity most of my life and it has helped me to become the person I am. When I am the “only” one in the room I conduct myself professionally no matter what room I’m in. Although I’ve been in many rooms amongst others that don’t look like me I continue to thank God for directing my path to be able to maneuver myself accordingly.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’ve been in the real estate business for 25+ years full time. I represent buyers and sellers with their real estate endeavors. I specialize in residential real estate and some commercial real estate. During my career I have assisted developers in acquiring raw land for developmental purposes, I’ve served as an on-site agent in new home communities and I’ve helped commercial clients sell and lease their commercial properties. I’m a boutique real estate company and believe in dealing one on one with my clients to give them my undivided attention. I find that this is very important to many people that I’ve done business with. They love the fact that when they call me they aren’t dealing with a middle man.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I’ve learned that you first have to take the business seriously, you need to listen completely to the clients needs , you have to show up each and everyday. If you are interested in a real estate career be prepared to give it all of your attention, when starting out this is not a part time job or as some call it a side hustle. Once you have a client listen to their needs, stop inserting yourself into the conversation, focus on them. Show up each and everyday and give it 100+ percent and stay consistent. Do the job you were hired to do.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

The bible. Knowing that faith without work is dead, treating others as I would want to be treated and being a cheerful giver and faithful servant. I’ve allowed God to take control of my life years ago at the age of 16. I’m not supposed to be here, but by his grace I am and I’m forever grateful.
