Meet Anna Caruso

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anna Caruso. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anna below.

Anna , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I believe part of my resilience comes from having been able to transform the negatives that life throws at you into positive and lessons learned.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am an Architect with a deep passion for what I do.

After working on my house renovation I rediscovered the joy of getting into the details of design.
During the beginning of my professional career at Studio Gonzaga in Rome, Italy, I worked on Roman nobility palazzi. After moving to Miami in 1998 I mostly worked on large scale projects, including luxury condominiums and office buildings.
With the creation of Studio Dell’ Arte, a boutique architecture and interior design firm, my partner Princess Dewan and I want to recreate a sense of design accuracy and care that we believe has been lost.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Be brave, be curious and have grit. When you fall, get up, dust your clothes and keep going.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My grandmother, who lived thru both World Wars in Europe, thought me to be strong and positive and use common sense, which is your saving grace when in situations that present unforeseen conditions.
