Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anna Nikolská Vien. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Anna Nikolská, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
I first took a camera in my hands back in 2008, and since then, it has been the most exciting thing and my favorite way to spend time — both professionally and personally. Mastery knows no limits, there is always potential to explore — so many great artists out there, countless shots to capture, and no two days are ever the same. We have only one life to experience it all, and that feels far too little 🙂

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Anna Nikolská Vien — I am a Pacific Northwest wedding and commercial photographer.
In my early teenage years, I wore many hats — assisting photographers and videographers, working behind the scenes on some of Hollywood’s most popular shows, helping a local art museum build bridges between artists and visitors as a marketing professional, and, of course, doing photography. Being an independent creative has its limits when you dream of building something bigger. That’s why this year, I launched PNW.Weddings (@pnw.weddings on IG), a project created to connect wildly in love couples with a passionate team dedicated to capturing their special day perfectly.
Our team pours heart and soul into every wedding we capture, bringing together photographers, videographers, floral artists, and beauty experts to craft an unforgettable experience. Each story fills us with passion and a deep sense of responsibility to make every wedding unique. PNW.Weddings is designed for couples from all around the world who are wildly in love and drawn to the Nordic aesthetic. We deeply trust that every love story deserves to be told beautifully, and we are here to make that happen.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
For sure, creativity and inspiration need discipline. Many artists I know struggle with discipline, despite being extremely talented. I understand that creative work requires passion and inspiration, but it’s also work, like any other, that requires something beyond talent.
I also believe that an artist who works with people needs empathy. Many creators I know are great and extremely empathic individuals.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Collaboration is a powerful way to bring unique ideas to life, and I believe that by sharing values and resources, we can elevate each other’s work and reach our audiences. I am always open to collaborating with creative professionals who share a passion for storytelling through visual content. Whether you’re a wedding planner, floral designer, event coordinator, or if you specialize in commercial photography or film production in the Pacific Northwest, I would love to explore ways we can work together.
If you’re interested in collaborating, or if you’re a couple looking for a passionate Seattle-based team to work on your wedding day, please feel free to reach out to me through Instagram @PNW.Weddings or email me directly at [email protected].
