Anna, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I have to go back over to over 30 years ago when I was laid off from my job at Eastern Airlines as a computer programmer. I decided I was gonna do something I always wanted to do. I always enjoyed helping people, so I decided that I would go back to school to become a nurse and it was the best decision I ever made. That’s when I found my purpose.

At Dependable Screening Solutions, we offer a range of services including drug screening, physicals, DNA testing, notary services, background checks, fingerprints, and various other offerings. As a retired Registered Nurse, I also specialize in gender reveal testing, TB testing, and more.
Being a people person, I discovered my passion for bringing joy and smiles to others later in life. Entrepreneurship has enabled me to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. My primary focus and goal have always been to assist and support people. Whether it’s through our services, uplifting words, or any form of help, I am always eager to communicate with people and provide them with an encouraging message.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
On the path to becoming an entrepreneur, I attribute my three most crucial qualities and skills to my background as a nurse: compassion, resourcefulness, effective communication, a sense of humor, and a caring nature.
For me, the fulfillment in this journey lies in making a positive impact on individuals, be it through conducting a drug screening, facilitating a background check for employment, or even a simple task like collecting mail. The joy of helping just one person in any of these aspects brightens my day.
I consistently advocate for perseverance and the power of prayer when faced with challenges. Operating in this diverse environment, interacting with people from various walks of life, allows me to easily align with my purpose. If, in the process, I can contribute to someone’s well-being, then my existence feels purposeful and meaningful.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My two daughters have played a pivotal role in assisting me in overcoming numerous challenges. My eldest daughter, in particular, has been instrumental in cultivating essential skills and introducing me to new technologies crucial for success in this business. Witnessing her entrepreneurial journey has been a profound learning experience, and her unwavering determination to persist through setbacks has been truly inspiring. The success of our business owes much to her commitment and pursuit of excellence. Her professionalism and dedication have significantly contributed to shaping our business into what it is today.
