Meet Annette Parker

We were lucky to catch up with Annette Parker recently and have shared our conversation below.

Annette, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose by taking time learn what God was calling me to do with my life and letting Him define me as a woman. To seek out my purpose I was intentional with learning about myself and surrounding myself with people who would help me grow into the person I want to become. My purpose is to help people understand themselves so they can find their own purpose. There is a Proverb that states, the purposes of a man’s heart are like deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out. To find one’s purpose one must first have understanding. I’ve made this Proverb my personal guide in life and apply it practically to the best of my ability. Succinctly put, my purpose is to serve and create impact. I am fortunate enough to have found alignment with my purpose and my passions by working in the golf industry. Whether I am servicing a client or building a strategy to bring golf to life to a specific audience I know I am purposed in my work.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I work as an Executive at Golf Department CAA Sports. In my role I lead and manage the account of a global brand’s golf sponsorship portfolio which includes a PGA TOUR title sponsorship, ambassador activations and media and brand strategy. No one day is the same in my job and that’s why I love it. I also manage a golf and lifestyle brand that is on mission to impact how people see, engage with, and consume the game of golf. Working with top tier brands and helping my clients achieve their corporate and socially responsible missions is what excites me the most in my job.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being curious and student of all things; yourself, your environment and the people around you. Serving well. Great leaders don’t lead, they serve.
Being persistent. What you want to do may not come in the manner or timeframe that you’d like. Staying persistent and committed to your own personal cause is a recipe for success.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
I believe the superpower of parents is being able to see things in you that you can’t yet see in yourself AND telling you what it is. My Mom did that for me with golf. She was the first person to tell me to learn to play the sport because she said it would be good for business. All these years later, my business is the business of golf. She spoke that into my life and I’ll always be grateful to her for it.
