Meet anoushka dannin

We recently connected with Anoushka Dannin and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Anoushka, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Self care is vital to everyone and I have some non negotiables that keep me grounded in my busy life. I know it is hard to fit these things in, but I really find habit stacking to be super helpful here.

FIrst, I listen to a 10 minute meditation in the morning. I do not check my phone until I do. Prepping your mindset for the day every day is the biggest flex in self care. It all starts with your mind. I put my probiotics by my coffee maker so I remember to take them each morning. Gut health is crucial IMO to overall health. I have struggled with gut issues and making sure I’m drinking greens and eating fresh foods keeps my energy going and immune system up. I work out twice a week with my husband as our date night. It has been a habit we have together for 17 years now. That helps me relieve stress and stay in shape. I book myself me time that is not related to work or family. Having fun is an underrated for of self care.

You cannot go through life continuously pouring into work, family and friends when you do not pour back into yourself. That is a recipe for disaster. Find the time and fill your tank up.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
After 10 years as a Financial Analyst, I decided to stay home with my 18 month old son full time. I was extremely stressed out and unfulfilled in my job. In addition, the salary was not comparable to all the precious moments that I was missing out on. It was the hardest and best decision I have ever made.

As my son got older and was in school full time, I found more time to explore my interests again. I started an Instagram account to be a creative outlet. I named the handle, ForYourReputation. The name comes from a catch phrase my childhood girlfriends and I use to say to each other all the time. It’s purpose was to share all the things I loved including my style tips. The account grew and I started to connect to my local Vegas community. I was enjoying having this new focus as I was entering my 40’s and going through a stage of finding my purpose outside of the home. My account has grown so much in the last 6 years. It focuses mainly on healthy aging with a side of style. We are all aging and instead of fighting it, I am helping people embrace it while feeling and looking their best. I am very proud of it’s evolution.

I became obsessed with anti aging hair health 5 years ago after going through hair concerns myself and realized how many other women were suffering too. I have been using the most incredible clean hair care line that has given me the best hair of my adult life. Women do so much for everyone else in their lives and sacrifice themselves in the process. My thought is that if something as simple as swapping out your hair care can make a major difference in your confidence, then I’m here to help with that. I have a hair quiz link in my Instagram bio for anyone who wants to try something new. I also love to educate on best hair practices and how to create good self care habits for the busy moms out there. We can look and feel good while doing it all.

This passion has allowed me to build a business outside of social media with over 200 happy customers that call me their beauty bestie. I also mentor other women on how to build their social media brand and do what I do. It has matched my previous Financial Analyst income and given me the flexibility to still be present with my family, travel more and create a strong community of like minded women all over the world. If interested in learning more, message me on Instagram.

You can have it all! You just have to go out there and create the life you want.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I truly believe the following things are key to success:

1. Not being afraid of change / knowing when to pivot
2. Saying yes to things without knowing every detail but having the belief it will work out
3. Not holding yourself back because you are afraid of what people think

I moved to NYC in my 20’swithout a job. It was so scary at the time, but I felt like I had to do it to really gain the experience and have no regrets in life. I found a job at Estee Lauder corporate within 2 weeks and had a magical 12 months growing into my own there. I did not know every detail, but it all worked out. Lean into experiences!!!!

When I quit my job to focus on my family, giving up my financial independence was gut wrenching. At the time, I knew a change was required in my life and that major change led me towards a career that is way more fulfilling and aligned with my dreams. I found my purpose and that could not have happened without making room for it to come to fruition. Make room for things to come into your life by clearing out the things that are not serving you any more.

I turned 40 and started a new career in social selling and content creation. A lot of people in my life looked at me sideways because they did not understand my vision for my dream life. That lack of support did not hold me back in any way. It actually motivated me to prove them wrong and clarified a lot of things for me. Surround yourself with like minded people who support you unconditionally. Focus on your vision and do not let other people’s lack of vision hold you back. Keep soaring!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would truly love to collaborate with small business owners, women in business or any one who is interested in building a brand on social media and learning how to monetize it as a means towards their big dreams.
