We were lucky to catch up with Ant Devon recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ant, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I finally decided to listen to myself, instead of others. There’s nothing wrong with listening to other people, but you want to make sure you’re listening to your heart first.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and performer. Singing was always in me, it’s therapeutic. I grew up watching BET and always wanted to know the feeling of making it on national television to share your gift with the world. I started writing when I was 10, and started dancing at age 13.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I’d say my determination, consistency, and discipline have positively impacted my journey. It’s the intangibles that make a difference in your life. The things money can’t buy. The things that you can’t necessarily see, but feel within you. To the people who are just getting started, listen to yourself. Be introspective. The answers are within you.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I’m overwhelmed I take time to myself. Decompression is important. Singing also helps.
