Meet Antanique Peterson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Antanique Peterson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Antanique , we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
I’ve created a routine for myself. Creating a routine keeps you from getting distracted. It also helps with keeping your mind on what you need to be focused on. I like to wake up, pray and meditate. This helps me think clearly on what I need to do next. Also, I am able to stay in a creative mindset to plan and market ideas. Most importantly, I’ll make sure that my body gets a lot of rest. If I’m too tired, then I am unable to properly function to do anything. Honestly, making sure you do something special for yourself keeps your vibrations high to attract everything you need.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a retired cosmetologist. I recently decided to stop styling hair after ten years, to focus on my writing. I have one book published out of a series I’ve started. The series is an autobiography about my life called Bad Dream. The book is currently available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I released part one in 2017 and will be releasing part two soon. I’m currently writing part three. I also create mini movie trailers for my book to give readers a visual preview. The most exciting part about it is, being able to bring my ideas to life and let people in on my life because I’m extremely private. I also get excited to work with different local comedians in my city. I always incorporate them into my visual projects.

That’s not all! In 2018 I released my very first hair care product called Watch My Growth Oil. In 2020 I released Watch My Growth hair supplements. I am still producing and shipping my products to this day and working on many more. I have so much in store for the future and would love for everyone to follow up on all I have to offer!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Staying consistent, keeping my marketing up to date and paying close attention to my audience and customers impacted my businesses the most. The best advice I can give is to never ever give up on something you believe in your heart works for you. Also, put yourself in your customers shoes and think about what you would want from you. Keep your mind on your goals and not so much of what is going on around you. This will help you from getting discouraged, slowing down or giving up on your work.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
At times when I’m feeling overwhelmed, it’s because I’m worrying too much about the future and things I can not control. I remember to take a step back and enjoy the moment. Sometimes, we can be so focused on our next step that we forget to enjoy the milestone or goal we just conquered. I also, lean completely on my faith and remember that I can’t be in control of anything but myself.
