Meet Anthony Martinez Beven

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anthony Martinez Beven. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

: Hi Anthony, so excited to have you with us today and we are really interested in hearing your thoughts about how folks can develop their empathy? In our experience, most folks want to be empathic towards others, but in a world where we are often only surrounded by people who are very similar to us, it can sometimes be a challenge to develop empathy for others who might not be as similar to us. Any thoughts or advice?
I think empathy comes from experiencing what others experience. You have to go through something to be able to relate to what others are going through. I think empathy started for me as a baby. I learned the struggle of health early. At 10 months old, I had a vaccine intolerance. I spent 10 days in ICU with an incision in my head, because I didn’t have veins large enough for an IV. At 10, I had a TBI when a baseball hit the back of my head. At 17, I almost died in a slippery on-ramp accident where my small truck hit a patch of black ice spun multiple times in 360s to hit the only grassy median on the expressway. At 34, I received back-to-back HIV and cancer diagnosis. I fought my way back from 20 T-cells to 889. From 34-40, I experienced several bouts with shingles, kidney stones, two bouts with COVID and then another round of what I believe was an undiagnosed second round of cancer. It takes a struggle to be able to see what you couldn’t see before, to be able to relate to those you thought you never could.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a multi-modality DNA healer. I’ve been in business for myself since 2017 after I left 12 years of corporate America as a branding and marketing expert. My flagship program is The DNA Trifecta Program, which addresses complete healing: body, mind & soul. I’m a nutritional detox specialist, naturopath, homeopath & health educator registered with the National Provider Index. I’m also a clinical hypnotherapist to help people remove the emotional or trauma blocks preventing them from healing and integrate their different selves into one composite being. I recently started a 501c3 nonprofit, The Chronic Illness Foundation, which helps educate MDs on the under-diagnosed genetic condition of MTHFR/methylation gene group mutations. I’m heavily impacted by these mutations, my maternal Grandma, Carmen Martinez, died of these mutations. Hispanics are the most impacted by these mutations, which leads to high rates of liver disease, heart disease and diabetes among Hispanics. Many doctors don’t know enough about these mutations to properly treat patients. My Foundation is also working to raise funds to provide genetic testing to low-income chronic illness sufferers.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the three skills that were the most impactful in my journey have been:

1. Quality – You have to always deliver a high-quality product for whatever medium and audience you are trying to reach. One mistake can lead to questions and distrust.
2. Honesty – You have to keep yourself and others honest. Those who you do business for and business with see this, and it gives them a sense of trust in you. Trust builds sustainable relationships in business.
3. Commitment & Follow-through – If you do what you say, and say what what you do then you establish a track record. People take you serious and take what you do serious.

For people earlier on in their journey, I would say to really ask themselves what each one of their pillars is, and how they are delivering on them, and then find ways to maximize their delivery. My pillars aren’t everyone’s pillars, but they are a good starting point for most people.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking for synergies and collaborations with other like-minded entrepreneurs, as well as business professionals in HR, marketing & C-suite in both corporate and nonprofit settings. I think sharing experiences and best practices with other entrepreneurs is key to growing your mindset and your skills. I’m always interested in taking with business and nonprofit professionals to figure out ways we can work together to help deliver health and healing in means and ways that haven’t been done before for people. My way of healing is unique, and I believe what I do and how I do is setting the stage for the future of healthcare — Collaborative Care. In this model, patients have access to your diagnostic resources, guidance and advisement when they need it, but the goal Is for them to become their own health expert and healer. A true healer activates the ancestral knowledge to heal within others. That’s always my goal.
