Meet Anthony Ortiz

We recently connected with Anthony Ortiz and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

The thought of feeling lost, confused, and self-destructive is what ultimately helped me find my purpose. I realized I couldn’t keep going down that path and needed to step back to gain perspective on my life. That shift made me see that I had been doing many things wrong , not because I was lazy, but because I was acting against my own thoughts and beliefs. I had poured so much energy into helping everyone else improve, without learning to help myself. Once I understood that, I began focusing on discipline, self-growth, and aligning my actions with my values.

My purpose is to continually grow and master myself; mind, body, and spirit, so I can live in alignment with my values .I don’t believe my purpose is my work, but I do believe that I can fulfill my purpose through my work.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m Anthony Ortiz, founder of Hyzeman Enterprise. My story is rooted in accountability and the belief that the cards I’ve been dealt don’t have to define the results of my life. I grew up in a Mexican household with divorced parents, an unstable living situation, and little communication with my parents, but I told myself, it could always be worse. Even at a young age, I knew my circumstances weren’t an excuse to limit my future.

Growing up, I played soccer and stayed active, and I was a huge fan of streetwear. Being active and expressing myself through style became a core part of who I am. After high school, I worked warehouse jobs, but on my first day, I knew that life wasn’t meant for me. I had always wanted to join the military, so I took that step, serving three years active duty as an 11B (infantryman) at JBLM and three years in the National Guard in California. My time in the military taught me more about myself than I had ever known. I discovered I was stronger, mentally and physically, than I realized, and it helped me build confidence, resilience, and a sense of self-worth that I carry into everything I do today.

After my time in the military, I wanted to take the discipline, focus, and confidence I had developed and channel it into something that reflected who I am. Streetwear and exercise had always been ways for me to express myself growing up, so creating a brand felt like the perfect way to turn my experiences and lessons into something tangible. That’s how Hyzeman Enterprise was born. I wanted to create a streetwear brand that felt original, athletic-inspired, versatile, and stylish; a subtle flex. That’s my goal with every garment I release. I want people, whether they see it on someone else, are wearing it themselves, or even see a Hyzeman sticker on the street, to know that Hyzeman Enterprise is a brand for those who are all about getting what they want through hard work and accountability.

What excites me most about Hyzeman is seeing people connect with the mindset behind the brand. My goal is to get it out to as many people as possible and inspire different people for different reasons.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that have shaped my journey are faith, courage, and a commitment to exercise. Faith: trusting yourself, your vision, and the process, has kept me moving forward even when the path wasn’t clear. Courage: the willingness to take risks and push through uncertainty, has allowed me to grow and embrace challenges I once thought were impossible. And exercise has been a cornerstone in building discipline, mental toughness, and consistency, teaching me the value of showing up every day and pushing my limits. For anyone starting out, my advice is to trust yourself, embrace challenges with courage, and commit to habits like exercise that strengthen both your body and mind. These three qualities have guided me in building Hyzeman Enterprise, and they can help anyone turn challenges into opportunities and create a life on their own terms.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

A book that’s played a major role in my development is “Go One More” by Nick Bare. What stood out to me most was how success isn’t just about effort in isolated moments, it’s about building habits that compound over time. Another impactful lesson is the value of mental toughness: learning to embrace discomfort, face challenges head-on, and take ownership of your actions, rather than blaming circumstances. Finally, the book reinforced the mindset that growth isn’t linear; setbacks and failures are inevitable, but how you respond to them determines your trajectory. These lessons have influenced how I approach both Hyzeman Enterprise and my personal life, helping me stay consistent, accountable, and resilient in the face of challenges.
