Anthony , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
As an African-American entrepreneur, I’ve often found myself in rooms where I am the only one who looks like me. This experience has taught me several valuable lessons that have been pivotal to my success. First and foremost, I’ve learned the importance of self-confidence and believing in my own abilities and vision. I understand that my unique perspective is a strength, not a limitation.
I’ve also focused on building a strong support network. Mentors, advisors, and peers who believe in my mission have provided invaluable guidance and encouragement. Networking and establishing relationships with other minority business owners have created a sense of community and shared purpose.
Lastly, I’ve committed to continuous learning and adaptability. Understanding different viewpoints, industries, and business practices has helped me to navigate diverse environments effectively. By staying informed and open to new ideas, I’ve been able to turn challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation.


Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the founder and CEO of Icebreakers Artesian Spring Water, a brand that represents more than just a refreshing beverage. Our journey began on March 1, 2021, as a collaboration between Icebreakers TV/Roku and acclaimed artist Anthony Peso. Our mission was to redefine refreshment by offering an exclusive oasis of indulgence. As a certified minority business enterprise under the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Icebreakers Artesian Spring Water is committed to quality, sustainability, and community impact.
What excites me most about our brand is the unique combination of pure, high-quality water and our dedication to artistic expression and community engagement. Each bottle of our artesian spring water symbolizes purity, creativity, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. We source our water from natural springs, ensuring it is rich in essential minerals and naturally filtered to provide a crisp, clean taste.
We are continuously innovating and expanding our product line to meet the needs of our customers. For instance, we offer a variety of packaging options, from the convenient Grab ‘n Go bottles to the larger Big Boy 1 Liter bottles, catering to different lifestyles and preferences. Our latest product launch includes eco-friendly packaging, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
In addition to our products, we are actively involved in community initiatives through the Icebreakers Foundation, our newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The foundation focuses on providing clean water access and educational resources to underserved communities, reinforcing our belief that everyone deserves access to safe and pure water.
Looking ahead, we have several exciting events and expansions planned. Additionally, we are exploring partnerships with local businesses and organizations to further our reach and impact.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey with Icebreakers Artesian Spring Water: resilience, creativity, and relationship-building.
Resilience: Starting and growing a business, especially as a minority entrepreneur, comes with its fair share of challenges. Resilience has been crucial in navigating setbacks and staying focused on our goals. My advice to those early in their journey is to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Keep pushing forward, learn from every experience, and maintain a positive mindset even in the face of adversity.
Creativity: As an artist known as Anthony Peso, creativity has been at the heart of our brand, from the unique collaboration with my own artistic vision to the innovative approaches we take in product development and marketing. Cultivating creativity means thinking outside the box and being open to new ideas and perspectives. For those starting out, I recommend surrounding yourself with diverse influences, constantly seeking inspiration, and allowing yourself the freedom to experiment and innovate.
Relationship-Building: Building strong relationships has been essential for our success, whether it’s with customers, partners, or community stakeholders. Networking and forming genuine connections open doors to opportunities and collaborations that can propel your business forward. For those early in their journey, invest time in networking, be authentic in your interactions, and always seek to add value to the relationships you form.
Developing these qualities requires intentional effort and a commitment to personal and professional growth. Embrace continuous learning, seek mentorship, and remain adaptable to change. By focusing on resilience, creativity, and relationship-building, you can build a strong foundation for success in any endeavor.
