Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Antonio Martinez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Antonio, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
As a kid, I grew up around music. Whether it was watching “The Wiggles” or listening to my parents play their favorite tapes/CD’s. Despite the fact that nobody in my family is musically inclined, I determined my passion for music was my God given talent when I would pick up a toy vacuum like a guitar and pretend to play it at the age of 2. Fast forward 20 years later, I’ve been blessed to still be able to create music for the world to hear.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Our story begins in 2016, when Aldair and I met at a Guitar Center. It was unexpected. We didn’t know each other but our families took us to buy new strings and we met in the guitar showroom. We started jamming to some Ariel Camacho songs. I then grabbed his information and contacted him days after so we can meet up to practice since I already had a tuba player lined up. That’s when our dreams of being musicians started. We first named ourselves “Sexto Elemento”. Throughout the years we met other musician’s that helped us grow. Alexandro joined us in 2021 to rebrand ourselves with a more modern approach. We have been performing in various venues and states around the East Coast over the past years and have been working on growing our name even further! We will be performing in Atlanta and Nashville soon so stay updated to see when we will be around a city near you!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Learning music theory and participating in concert and marching band from 6th grade through senior year helped me develop a strong ear for music while deepening my understanding of rhythmic patterns and musical scales. I would recommend listening to other genres to expand your creativity!

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
I believe it’s best to put your energy and effort into something you enjoy and go all in. Having a positive and supportive relationship with your friends and family is very important. Once you find a genuine circle, you’ll just have to worry about uplifting yourself and the circle. My friends and family are a great part of my career and I’m beyond grateful for them all.
