We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Antrell McLean. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Antrell below.
Hi Antrell, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My Father gave me my work ethic. He developed this in me many years ago even before I understood what he was doing. I watched him work everyday, serve in the military, build a successful real estate business, and still make time for his family. I’ve never told him, but he is my Hero.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a visual storyteller and creative director based in Sanford, North Carolina, also the founder of GHME Films. At my core, I specialize in bringing moments to life through video—whether that’s capturing the energy of a live worship experience, telling the story of a family, or helping brands and artists communicate their message with clarity and impact.
What makes my work special to me is the purpose behind it. I’m not just creating content—I’m creating experiences that people can feel. A lot of what I do sits at the intersection of faith, creativity, and community. Whether I’m directing a cinematic worship set or producing a documentary-style piece, I approach every project with intention, making sure the final product doesn’t just look good, but actually moves people.
One of the things I’m most passionate about right now is building systems and teaching others. I’ve spent years developing workflows, creative strategies, and production standards, and now I’m focused on helping churches and creatives elevate how they show up online. It’s exciting to see teams grow in confidence and skill, and to know that what I’m building extends beyond just my own work.
Outside of client work, I’m also deeply invested in storytelling within my own life—documenting my journey as a husband, father, and entrepreneur. That balance between family, faith, and creativity is a big part of my brand. It’s not just about what I produce—it’s about how I live.
If there’s anything I’d want people to know, it’s that I’m committed to authenticity. I’m not chasing trends—I’m focused on creating work that lasts, tells the truth, and represents people well. That’s the standard I bring into every project, and it’s what continues to drive me forward.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
First I wold say to be teachable. To me this a skill in itself. the bible states in 1 Corinthians 8:2 (God’s Word Version) that “those who think they know something still have a lot to learn.” Being someone who takes constructive criticism well is a skill that everyone should make useful. It has helped me tremendously in my personal and professional life.
Second I would say not only be teachable, but also able to teach and learn delegation. Knowledge is truly meant to be shared. In this way we are able to build each other up, and also trust the people we keep closest to us. Life was never intended to be done alone, and allowing others to help us grow and succeed means we can reach further. More wisdom I’ve heard is that If you want to go fast go alone, But if you want to go far, go together.
Third, study your craft immensely. know as much as you can, because again, evolution happens and things change. for me repetition is how I’ve learned to be a better cinematographer, director, and editor. to become a better basketball player, you gotta get in the gym and put up more shots. It’s no different in any other field.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
This is a simple answer, GOD. from my perspective the most helpful book anyone can read is the Holy Bible. Once I truly started on the path of finding my purpose, God aligned me with a great church, and a Pastor that invested into me as a man, not just my skillset. This allowed me to evolve into someone much greater, and unlocked the limits on my potential. I honestly can’t take credit for it. I humbled myself, got my pride out the way, and let my creator take control. I reap the benefits of His purpose for my life.
