Hi Antwon, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Music has always been my refuge, my joy, and my way of navigating life’s ups and downs. But it wasn’t until I began DJing and curating experiences that I realized my true purpose wasn’t just to love music – it was to share it and spread good energy.
I believe I’m here to inspire, using music as a way to uplift others. The right song at the right time has the power to change a person’s whole vibe, and I want to be part of that. Whether it’s through a live set or a curated playlist, my goal is to create moments of joy, healing, and connection.

As a DJ and creative curator, my passion lies in creating moments where sound, energy, and art collide. What excites me most about DJing is the freedom to shape the atmosphere and connect with people in real-time. It’s carefree, raw, and I get my life every time.
As for my brand, I’d describe it as a vibrant explosion of art pop – think TLC with CrazySexyCool. That era was all about blending bold, unique sounds and celebrating individuality, and I aim to bring that same energy. I want to create an experience that’s as empowering and freeing as the music itself, inspiring others to embrace their own freedom of expression always in all ways.
This year, I’m all about leveling up. I’m ready to take my brand to new heights – securing more gigs, rocking festivals, and partnering with other dope artists and brands. I’m pushing myself harder than ever to grow, evolve, and make my mark as Antwon Russell.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As I reflect on my journey, three qualities stand out as particularly impactful in shaping who I am and what I do: call the three C’s – Creativity, Craftiness, and Community.
Creativity is at the core of everything I do. It’s the spark that drives me to take risks and transform ideas into real life experiences.
Craftiness is my secret weapon. It’s all about thinking quickly, adapting on the fly, and knowing how to read the room.
And then there’s Community. Building meaningful connections, offering support, and receiving it in return. The power of collaboration and shared energy fuels me and drives me to keep going, knowing that we’re all in this together.
If it’s a thought, it’s a seed – and we all have the power to bring it to life. With all that, anything is possible!
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
In the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been believing in myself again… in the same way I did when I was a child, full of boldness and confidence. I’ve rediscovered the power of trusting my instincts, taking risks, and not being afraid to fail. It’s been about embracing vulnerability, understanding that failure is just part of the process, and using it as fuel to keep moving forward with even more conviction. This shift in mindset is what prompted me to document my PROGRESS music series last year on SoundCloud. I realized that you can’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Feel the fear and do it anyway!
