Anu , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My confidence and self-esteem grew through action and persistence. As a single mother, I had to rely on myself to create the life I wanted. I started my business from scratch, learning everything along the way, celebrating every small win, and pushing through every setback. Building something from nothing taught me to trust my skills, embrace my worth, and believe that I can create success on my own terms.

At GirlyGlow Esthetics, I specialize in brow, lash, and skincare services, helping my clients feel confident and radiant in their own skin. What I love most about my work is the transformation—not just the aesthetic results, but the boost in self-esteem and joy my clients walk away with. Every brow I shape, lash set I apply, and skincare treatment I provide is tailored to enhance each person’s natural beauty.
As a solo esthetician, I pour my heart into every appointment, creating a warm, personalized experience where clients feel seen, pampered, and empowered. I’m also excited to share that I’m constantly evolving my offerings with the latest techniques and products, ensuring GirlyGlow stays at the forefront of beauty and skincare trends. Whether it’s a brow refresh, a lash lift, or a rejuvenating facial, my mission is always the same: to make every client leave glowing inside and out.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were perseverance, creativity, and a commitment to continuous learning. Perseverance helped me push through the challenges of building GirlyGlow Esthetics from the ground up as a single mother. Creativity allows me to customize every brow, lash, and skincare treatment to bring out the unique beauty in each client. And staying committed to learning—whether new techniques, products, or business strategies—has kept my services fresh and my brand thriving.
For anyone early in their journey, my advice is simple: embrace challenges as opportunities to grow, invest in honing your craft every day, and don’t be afraid to experiment and put your unique stamp on your work. Success comes when skill, passion, and persistence meet.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was teach me the value of hard work and self-reliance. They showed me that success doesn’t come handed to you, you have to be willing to put in the effort, take risks, and believe in yourself even when it’s hard. That mindset has been the foundation for building GirlyGlow Esthetics from the ground up and shaping the life I wanted for myself and my child.
