We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anya Garcia a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Anya, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
A Bold Pivot: From Attorney to Early Childhood Advocate**
People spend years dreaming of becoming an attorney—earning the highest Doctorate Degree in Law, taking on cases, and making an impact in the legal world. I was no different. I had worked tirelessly, accumulated massive student loan debt, and was standing at the threshold of a promising legal career with big prospects. But deep down, something didn’t feel right.
The moment I held my newborn daughter, I listened to my heart, and I knew—I couldn’t trade these years for a demanding legal career. I realized that no case, no courtroom, and no paycheck could ever replace the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be fully present in her early years.
As I started learning more about early childhood education, I uncovered tremendous proof that the early years are the most pivotal—and yet the most overlooked—years of a person’s life. These years shape a child’s cognitive, emotional, and social foundation, and I knew I couldn’t leave that to chance.
So, I made a bold decision—I walked away from the career I had spent years building and chose to dedicate myself to early childhood education. And I have never regretted it for a single moment.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

What I Do & How I Got Here
My work is about guiding parents—whether they are new to homeschooling, feeling overwhelmed, or simply looking for fresh inspiration—by giving them the tools, confidence, and knowledge to make education more engaging and purposeful for their child. I take the guesswork out of homeschooling by providing structured, easy-to-follow resources that work for modern families.
One of my core offerings is MKAP (Monthly Kids Activities Plan), a thriving membership program that delivers curated, step-by-step Montessori-inspired activities to help parents effortlessly integrate hands-on learning into their daily routine. I also create courses, digital guides, workshops, and personalized coaching designed to make education stress-free and effective for both parents and children.
What sets my work apart is that I bridge the gap between complex educational methods and real-life parenting, making Montessori approachable and doable for families without a formal teaching background. I’m not just providing information—I’m offering a roadmap that parents can actually implement, regardless of where they are in their homeschooling or educational journey.
The Problem I Solve
Many parents want to give their children a rich, hands-on education, but they often feel overwhelmed, unsure where to start, or afraid of “getting it wrong.” Traditional education models don’t always accommodate different learning styles, and many parents struggle to find a flexible, engaging approach that meets their child’s needs.
I help parents eliminate the stress, confusion, and overwhelm by providing a clear, step-by-step framework for creating a nurturing, stimulating learning environment at home. Instead of feeling lost, parents feel empowered, prepared, and excited to support their child’s natural love for learning.
What I Am Most Proud Of
I am incredibly proud of the global impact I’ve made by helping families shift from frustration and uncertainty to confidence and joy in their homeschooling journey. Seeing parents go from doubting themselves to embracing their role as their child’s first teacher is the most rewarding part of my work.
I’m also proud that I’ve been able to create a movement where parents feel supported, connected, and encouraged—not just by me, but by a thriving, like-minded community that believes in the power of early education.
Beyond my work with families, I am deeply honored to have received international recognition for my contributions to early childhood education, including:
✅ The 2025 Winner of *Global Women Changing The World* in Education – Woman Of The Year Award
✅Featured in Female Entrepreneur Magazine
✅ Recognized as #1 in “Key Early Learning Influencers in North America”
These achievements are not just personal milestones but affirmations of the importance of early childhood education and the power of empowering parents. I am committed to continuing this work and reaching even more families worldwide.
**What I Want People to Know About My Work**
I want parents to know that homeschooling doesn’t have to be overwhelming—it can be simple, joyful, and deeply rewarding when you have the right tools and mindset. You don’t need a degree in early childhood education or a Pinterest-perfect classroom—you just need a clear plan, an open heart, and the confidence to take the first step.
Through Montessori From The Heart, I’m here to help parents make that step easier, more intentional, and truly transformative for both them and their children.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
When I first started sharing my journey, I had zero followers, zero strategy, and zero idea what I was doing. I was just a passionate mom who had made a bold decision—to walk away from a promising legal career and dedicate myself to early childhood education. I wanted to document what I was learning, share activities I was doing with my kids, and maybe help a few other parents who were feeling as lost as I once did.
But what started as a small passion project quickly grew into something much bigger. I realized that parents everywhere were struggling with the same challenges—feeling overwhelmed, doubting their ability to homeschool, and searching for practical, hands-on ways to support their child’s development. So, I leaned into my authenticity, stayed consistent, and kept showing up—one post, one video, one conversation at a time.
Growth didn’t happen overnight. There were months where it felt like I was talking to no one, where my content wasn’t getting the traction I hoped for. But I stayed committed because I believed in my message and my mission. And slowly, one follower became ten, ten became a hundred, and before I knew it, Montessori From The Heart grew into a thriving global community with over 1 million followers.
**My Advice for Those Starting Out**
1️⃣ **Start before you feel ready** – You don’t need the perfect branding, the perfect equipment, or the perfect strategy to begin. Just start sharing what you know, what you love, and what you truly believe in—because when you’re given a vision, you’re also given the provision to fulfill it. You already have everything you need to take the first step.
2️⃣ **Be consistent** – Growth takes time. If you show up once and disappear for a month, it’s hard to build momentum. Stay focused on your path, your pace, and your progress. The more consistently you show up, the more clarity and confidence you’ll build.
3️⃣ **Add value first** – People don’t follow you for *you*; they follow you for how you can help them. Whether you educate, inspire, or entertain—make sure you’re truly serving your audience. Your provision—the unique gifts, knowledge, and experiences you bring—are what will create impact and connection.
✨ Most importantly, **persist till you succeed!** Growth doesn’t happen overnight **nor it happens in the comfort zone**, and success isn’t about luck—it’s about showing up, learning, adapting, and refusing to quit. When things get tough, remind yourself that your vision was given to you for a reason. Keep going, keep believing, and keep serving—because the right people will find you at the right time.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I take action. Not big, dramatic action—just the next best step.
Because clarity doesn’t come from overthinking. It comes from engagement. From doing.
I always say: action is the antidote to overwhelm.
Imagine overwhelm like a mountain of “to-dos” in front of you.
When you take just one small task—one that matters right now—and complete it, you toss it behind you. That mountain in front of you? Smaller.
The one behind you? Bigger. Stronger. Proof that you’re moving forward.
One step at a time. One decision at a time.
I’ve learned that confidence doesn’t come before action—it comes because of it.
You don’t wait to feel ready. You move forward while you’re unsure. You do it scared.
Like planting tulips in the fall—what blooms in spring is the result of quiet, consistent steps that no one saw.
Overwhelm grows in stillness, in hesitation, in the corners of “what if…”
But momentum? That’s created by movement.
It’s not about doing more—it’s about doing what matters most, methodically and consistently.
Because the only mistake…
is not starting.
