Meet Anya Kalia

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anya Kalia a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Anya, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my passion for acting when I was very young, which instantly felt like my purpose in life. I have always liked dressing up and pretending to be different characters. I would also always write scripts and perform for my family and friends. As I grew older, acting continued to be my passion. Whenever I am on set or practicing a scene for fun, I feel happy!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Acting is something that I truly love doing! I like taking on characters and telling a story to an audience. The concept of getting to step into somebody else’s shoes has always been super cool to me! I have some projects that I have been a part of that I am excited to see released!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Qualities and skills that are important in this industry are having determination, adaptability, and having a positive attitude! Staying motivated will help one feel more confident in one’s ability to do well. It is vital to be able to adapt to different roles as being flexible is something that is required a lot. Staying positive and being kind to others is a must as it is good to treat everyone with respect.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My parents have been extremely supportive of my dream of wanting to become a professional actor. They drive me to set and are always helping me to practice my lines. I am so grateful to have them support me as it really helps me stay motivated as they always encourage me to follow my passion!
