Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anyea’ Thompson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Anyea’, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my mom, as much adversity as I’ve seen her come across she never let me see her give up. Being surrounded by strong black women all my life that always hustled their way to the top helped me create the drive and work ethic I have now. I also would say that my work ethic is IN ME I can’t get away from it even if I wanted too, God has a purpose for me and thats also where my work ethic comes from.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Anyea’ I’m a 23 year old full time entrepreneur and college student & a firm believer in God . I’ve been a full time entrepreneur for 2 years now I help businesses strategize and fully build their brands through graphic design. I’m the proud owner of TheBrandARTist Studios.I like to call myself the branding pilot because I’m in control of steering my clients brand in the right way! Besides being an entrepreneur I am studying to Exercise & Occupational Therapy to become a Physical Therapist. I’m in my final year of undergrad and will be starting my Masters Program In 2025. Although these I never thought these two corresponded they do because both require me helping people and that is what I love to do.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities I think were impactful were being a communicator , a leader & honesty. These qualties are so important while running a business, you need to be able to effectively communicate with your clients on how you can help them and stay the course of their brand. Being a leader & honesty go hand and hand. I need to be able to be honest within myself if I can or cannot lead their brand because our brands may not align with each other.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing that my parents did for me was BELIEVE IN ME! They’re allowing me to live my wildest dreams out, becoming a entrepreneur and FULL TIME at the age of 21 wasn’t something I ever saw coming, but my parents believed in me from the moment it fell in my lap. The moment being an entrepreneur was brought to me my dad provided me with books to further read into what all goes into becoming an entrepreneur, he purchased my first LLC and supported every wild crazy idea I had .
