We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aretha. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aretha below.
Aretha, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience simply comes from my faith in Christ, I find the strength to keep going and to overcome obstacles because I know God loves me and while and won’t fail me. Do I sometimes fell like giving up when the storm gets too much to handle OfCourse I do I am human, but I remember all the storms I have already overcame and it reminds me if that one didn’t take me out this one surely won’t. So, my resilience come from my life experiences and knowing that no matter how hard lfe gets because of the love of God I am equipt for the battle.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
If I was to name three of the most impactful things I’ve learned on this journey first would be to put God first yes, I know everyone says that but in putting him first I mean inviting him into everything so he can guide you. I’ve learned he will put you at tables you are unqualified to be, but because you placed him first, he can trust you at any table. The second thing is knowing your identity, who you are and what it is you desire that way you’ll stay in your lane and won’t lose sight of your vision. Thirdly never giving up, you must tap into the fighter within because giving up is the easy way out but once you follow the first two steps you will have all you need to keep going. Putting God first, he will give you the strength you need to keep going, knowing who you are, gives you the confidence you need to keep going. These first two steps makes not giving up a lot easier.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
hmmm the book has played an important role in my development. I would have to say the Bible, Yup the bible, simple because I have found my true identity in Christ and when I tend to forget who I am I’m reminded in his word that I am a child of God and loved by God. When life brings me to points where I feel doubtful of my future, I’m reminded that God does have a plan for my future. I have developed into the person I am because of the word of God found in the Bible.
