Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ari Smith. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ari, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Creativity never dies unless the creative mind does. I love to create visual stories.
I make it my business to stay away from trends. I also create based off of feelings & the vision in my head. I tap into that vision to ensure its clarity. Lastly, I have fun! My creative process consists of me enjoying what I do.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hey! I’m Ari owner of Millennialmuze. I like to refer to myself as a 360 creator. My primary role is videographer; however, I’m also an editor, creative director and producer. I create in the beauty and lifestyle space and most recently transitioning into entertainment/concert videography.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Authenticity. Humility. Faith.
I’m a firm believer that God doesn’t bless who you pretend to be. Remaining 100% true to myself and my craft has made this journey much easier. It also eliminates the need to uphold someone I’m not. Being true to myself also allows my craft to authentically speak for me. At every altitude that I reach, humility is always at my foundation.
My only advice is to remain true to who you are & the blessings will come.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is another professional creative. Someone/ a brand who understands the importance of creating a story and standing out.
