Meet Ariana Hartman

Hi Ariana, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my mother. She made sure my needs were met, but if there was something I wanted I had to earn it. She always made me think solution based so if I did not have the money, I found a way to get it. Whether it’s doing makeup, ubering, or working my full-time job I will always grind and get what I need.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’ve always been creative, whether it was painting, drawing, clay, oil pastels, or sidewalk chalk. I have always found a passion in creating art. I realized makeup was another form of art I could tap into, and I’ve been here ever since. 8 years in and I can say I’ve learned a lot about myself and also the people I service. I provide makeup services that enhance your beauty. My goal is to add to what is there and not mask or take away from your natural beauty. I’m most proud of the rooms my feet have now stepped into. I’ve done makeup for graduations, proms, women empowerment shoots, birthday shoots, business shoots, baby showers, weddings, and special events.

I want to start creating tutorials that cater to those and want to get the makeup basics down!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I’d first start off by saying you need to be an active listener. You have to pay attention and listen to what’s being asked of you. You should be able to provide genuine feedback and responses to questions or conversation.

The second skill I’d suggest mastering is patience. Being that I’ve worked retail, fast food, and now corporate I understand the importance of this skill. Everything does not operate on your time or when you say. It’s best to practice patience especially when providing a service.

The last skill I’d say that’s important is being adaptable. You should know how to adapt to different environments, people, and situations.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am looking to collaborate with more content-based individuals. Whether it’s for a clothing photoshoot, weddings, or even Instagram posts. I’d like to get my name out there, I know what I’m talking about, and I’m confident in it.
