We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ariana Rodriguez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Ariana with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from? Since the age of 16, I’ve been actively working, finding genuine enjoyment in staying busy. Throughout my various job experiences, I’ve consistently strived to give 100%. My work ethic seems to derive from a blend of familial influence and personal drive. Both my grandmother and mother played pivotal roles in shaping this ethic, instilling in me the values of wholehearted dedication to any task or job, and stressing the importance of responsibility and commitment. Their guidance has been the cornerstone of my work ethic, a foundation I’ve carried with me since my early working years.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on? I am Ariana Rodriguez, the proud owner and primary Consultant/Coordinator of Events by Ari. I went to school to become a teacher and received my degrees in Childhood Development and Early Education, as well as one in Social Behavioral Sciences. After a few years of teaching, my journey into the world of event planning began after experiencing the joy of planning and coordinating my own wedding, along with several other weddings and social events. What started as a hobby quickly became my true passion and calling.
What I find most exciting and special about event planning is the opportunity to bring people’s dreams to life. There’s something truly magical about transforming a vision into reality and creating unforgettable moments that will be cherished for a lifetime. From the smallest details to the grandest designs, I love the creative process and the joy it brings to my clients.
At Events by Ari, we specialize in turning your Southern California event into a stress-free dream. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
- Passion and Dedication: Having a genuine passion for event planning and a dedicated work ethic were crucial in driving me forward. It’s essential to pursue what truly excites you and to commit fully to your goals.
- Attention to Detail: The ability to pay close attention to even the smallest details is vital in event planning. From coordinating schedules to managing vendors and ensuring every aspect of an event runs smoothly, attention to detail is key to success.
- Continuous Learning/Practice and Persistence: Never stop learning and improving your skills. Seek out opportunities for professional development, whether through courses, workshops, or networking events. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to remain competitive. Building expertise takes time and practice. Be patient with yourself and don’t be afraid to make mistakes along the way. Learn from each experience and use setbacks as opportunities for growth. Persistence and resilience are key to overcoming challenges and achieving success in the long run.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like? Planning an event should be as enjoyable as the event itself. An ideal client is someone who is fun, has good energy, trust, positivity, flexibility, has a clear vision and communicates their preferences effectively. This ensures we exceed their expectations and bring their vision to life.Trust is crucial, someone that trusts our expertise and allows creative freedom while providing valuable feedback. Collaboration is key to success. Together, let’s create unforgettable memories and make your event extraordinary!
