We recently connected with Arianna Elise and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Arianna with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Growing up in household with a single mother working multiple jobs to get by. I think I just knew from a young age that if I wanted anything I was going to have to get up and go get it myself. Whenever I am tired or feel burned out I think of her perservence and self sacrifice for us to give me strength. My first job was when I was fifteen working in a mall food court. I gained a whole new confidence and feeling of independence that I was able to start providing for myself. I have carried that feeling with me into all my endeavors. With hard work comes a freedom I’ve always been striving for.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I began my tattoo journey back in 2017. Since I can remember I have always been an artist . I was in college for a couple of years and nothing was really speaking to me career wise on a creative level. Coincidentally I began working right next to a tattoo shop. I still had trepidations at the time about permanently marking people and struggling with truly believing in myself. It was really only after someone viewing my artwork and thinking I was good enough did I start to feel like it was a possibility for me. It wasnt until later on that I started to believe in myself. Once I made the decision I never looked back I tirelessly worked as an apprentice and working full time to achieve my dreams. I always feel like I have so much more to learn and so much more to grow but I stop myself often and have moments of just pure gratitude that I am fortunate enough to live off my art and love what I do . It really is the most rewarding career, getting to connect with people and bring their visions to existence that they get to wear for life. I am currently located in Orlando, Florida but the last few years I have been traveling for tattoo shows and guest appearances in tattoo shops all around the United states and hopefully very soon other countries. Unifying my love for travel and art has been one of the most gratifying and fulfilling experiences.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I wouldn’t be where I am at now if it wasn’t for my tenacity , humility and confidence . At times those words would wax and wane for me . I had to build them or either pretend I had them until I actually did. I didn’t feel like I fit into the industry I chose to be in and I felt out of place initially. I had to completely let these limiting thoughts go and start thinking about how I could be the greatest version of myself. Through tenacity/dedication many extremely long days and rarely a day off. I gained the self confidence I was seeking in myself because I felt accomplished for pouring my entire soul into something that would enrich my life. I stopped letting opportunities pass because I didn’t think I was good enough for it and everything that was presented to me I tried regardless of how I truly felt on the inside, sometimes inexperienced or undeserving. Through humility and continuing to be a student of my craft is how I continue to progress. Once you feel like you are the absolute best you have nothing more to learn and your journey can eventually plateau or become stagnant.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I know this probably isn’t a very clear answer to the question because I think both are relevant. I think being able to identify your strengths and capitalizing on them is an important skill to possess. On the flip side of that coin is also being able to assess your weaknesses . I personally believe you should go all in on everything you can do . Take that job offer write about yourself for that magazine but also take the seminar ask questions to people you aspire to be like. I have personally done all of these things . Basically don’t leave any stone unturned and don’t be afraid to take up space in this world.
