Meet Arianna Wellmoney

We were lucky to catch up with Arianna Wellmoney recently and have shared our conversation below.

Arianna, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my super duper parents! They are two of the best people I know and they are extremely smart in whatever they do. My mom and dad are very detailed oriented, but they are also very creative and can be really spontaneous in what they do. They are always early or on time, make sure to learn everyone’s names and are always, always prepared. These are all skills that I have learned through them and always bring into my acting work. I am always suuuuper early for things, make sure I know everyone’s name and always try to prepare as much as possible. I also have fantastic artistic friends who are sucessful and marvelous in their fields that always inspire me to do better.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am an actor and playwright based in NYC, but I actually grew up in Italy. I have been living and working in the US for almost a decade and I am constantly in awe about the amount of art that goes on in this city. I enjoy acting in Theater, Film and TV, however, in 2023 I was lucky enough to be cast in many theater productions and it reminded me of how much I love performing live. There is just something so vulnerable about being in front of an audience and never knowing what is gonna happen next. I am so glad I get to do what I love the most in life.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the qualities I have learned from my parents: being prepared, being on time and being respectful are some of my best features. I am a curious being and love to soak up all kinds of information, so getting prepared for a role is actually something that I love doing. Studying a character’s past, lines, thoughts and wishes is one of the things that I love the most about being an actor. Preparing so intensively for a role helps me deliver a better performance.

I also tend to always be very early for calltimes on set or rehearsals. It might seem like a small thing, but you do not wanna be the person that is late and is making everyone wait ! I like to get to set or rehearsal on time so I can warm up, look through my lines and take time preparing for the day.

Being respectful is another tool that is very important to me. Everyone you meet, work with, approach, are worthy of respect. When I am on set or in the theater, I make sure I introduce myself to everyone working there and try to remember their name. Just because you are the “star” (whatever that means) it does not make you better than everyone else! Every person on a project is just trying to do their job and accomplish something so we all have to be kind of one another.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I tend to get overwhelmed easily, especially because I like to keep busy and sometime overschedule myself. Whenever I feel like I cannot catch a break, I try to find ways to ground myself as much as possible. Meditating, even if it is just listening to some calming track on the train, is one of the best ways to slow everything down for me.

Reading a book, journaling or calling a friend to vent are always outlets that help me whenever I feel like everything is too much.

Another thing that helps me stay focused when I am overwhelmed is something as simple as taking a breath.
