Meet Arica Avery

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Arica Avery a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Arica with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I developed my strong work ethic from the enduring spirit and determination of my ancestors throughout history. The legacy of those before me who fought for civil rights, economic empowerment, and educational opportunities serves as a beacon of strength for me. I believe in honoring their sacrifices by approaching my work with dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world around me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a passionate person that loves helping people, going on adventures, being surrounded with family & friends, and exploring new foods. Apart of my passion is helping my community and creating ways to generational wealth by creating and managing businesses. It’s about spotting opportunities, bringing fresh ideas to life, and building sustainable ventures. I get to be hands-on, making crucial decisions and leading an amazing team. Seeing my ventures grow and thrive is incredibly rewarding.

Giving back is a big part of who I am. Whether it’s donating resources or getting involved hands-on by being the Secretary for the Normandy High School Alumni Association, I’m committed to making a positive difference. Seeing the impact of my philanthropic work is truly heartwarming.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

In my journey, three qualities stand out as pivotal contributors to my success: resilience, dedication, and flexibility.

Resilience: This quality has been my rock in the face of challenges and setbacks. Resilience has not only helped me weather storms but has also helped me to emerge stronger and more determined than ever before.

Dedication: The unwavering commitment to my goals has been a driving force in my journey. It’s the willingness to put in the time, effort, and hard work necessary to achieve what I set out to do. Dedication means pushing through the grind, staying focused on the bigger picture, and refusing to settle for anything less than my best.

Flexibility: The ability to adapt and pivot has been instrumental in seizing opportunities and navigating change. In a dynamic world, being open to new ideas, approaches, and perspectives is crucial.

These three qualities have worked together as a powerful trio, empowering me to face challenges head-on, stay committed to my goals, and adapt to an ever-evolving world. They’ve been the pillars of my journey, providing the strength, determination, and adaptability needed to forge ahead and make meaningful progress.

For those who are early in their journey and looking to develop or improve qualities like Embracing Failure, Mindset, Network, & Self Care.

Embrace Failure meaning View setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow. Understand that failure is a natural part of any journey, and it’s how you respond that truly matters.
Cultivate a Growth Mindset simply Believe in your ability to develop skills and abilities over time. Focus on continuous learning and improvement.
Seek Support/Network: Surround yourself with a supportive network of mentors, peers, or friends who can offer encouragement and perspective during challenging times.
Prioritize Your Well-being: Take care of your physical, mental, and emotional health. When you’re in good shape, you’re better equipped to handle challenges and maintain a strong work ethic.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am looking to collaborate and partner with event planners, DJs, and small business owners looking to grow their business and network throughout the country. I love networking and connecting people together to create magic and long lasting relationships. In the future I would love to bring my photography & photo booth services to different cities around the country like Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, Nashville, & Dallas. Anyone looking to connect in these particular cities please email me. I would love to collaborate and bring the vibes to your next event.
