We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Arty Furtado. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Arty below.
Hi Arty, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I believe I am a pretty positive person, which helps with being optimistic about most things. I am always searching for ways to get things done, as opposed to looking at why things may not work. I love trying to find solutions to apparent problems.
I am very selective with the projects that I choose to accept, and with that, I am able to only work on things that excite me, thus making it very easy for me to be optimistic about their outcomes.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I run a creative agency named Furtado Global, which specializes in live show production, talent management, experiential marketing, and brand building through content creation. We are dedicated to crafting immersive experiences where the nexus between global artistic expression and local culture is seamlessly merged. We strive to create unforgettable moments.
Some of our recent work includes experiential marketing campaigns for brands such as Google and YouTube, building the Club 1BD brand from a party in a 1BD apartment to selling out venues internationally, and guiding the careers of talent such as DJ David.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
To succeed in my world, you need to be very organised, to be curious, and you have to love it.
The entertainment industry is very difficult, long hours are spent. I work almost every weekend, it is demanding. So you really need to love what you do, with an open mind, and keep organised.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I try to compartmentalise everything. I take a step back, look at everything that I have to do, and re-assess. It is very important to know how to prioritise tasks, and how to schedule each task in a realistic way.
When things get too much, sometimes I just take a break and go surround myself with people that I love in my circle of friends, that way I can take my mind completely off my task, which gives me a sense of peace and calm. In a way, it reminds me to not let me job takeover my life.
