Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ary Sanchez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Ary with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic definitely comes from my mom. She works tirelessly for me and my siblings, and she’s also a kindergarten teacher in a private school, so she gets no rest whatsoever. She lives away from her family, and works hard so that her kids can live a better life. When I was little I always helped my mom around the house. It helped me foster a “go go go!” attitude towards everything in life. While it can be draining at times, there’s a sense of accomplishment in doing everything that I do, and honestly I love having a hectic lifestyle! I’m a college student, a model, and I create content for brands on social media. I do a bit of everything!
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Ary Sanchez, and I am an architecture student at Ball State, a freelance model, and a content creator over on Instagram! I do a bit of everything, and I pride myself on a lot of organizations I am a part of. I’m a partner for Shea Moisture, joined a couple events and am an ambassador for Hummingbirds Co, and am currently in 5 different paid collaborations with various brands, all while juggling an architecture major with an inter design minor. My biggest passion (besides my degree) would have to be modeling. I love meeting new photographers and interacting with different styles. It’s a whole different language behind every lens, which I love taking a more artistic approach in meeting new people! Much like this interview, I love throwing myself in new opportunities since you never know where they may lead!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The biggest skill I would have everyone learn is to not take anything personally. I really struggled with getting left on read or me having to triple or quadruple text someone for a response, and this goes to everyone beyond just people starting in creating content. If someone leaves you without an opportunity, it’s not the end of the world, it just leaves room for another!
Another skill I’d use is to know your worth and know how to study your field. Yes, experience and making mistakes is going to happen, but a bad mistake could cost you a lot of money if you’re not careful. Always do research beforehand!
Lastly, find and make groups of people that will support and love what you do, and always reciprocate! I own a group chat on Instagram of over 30+ people support one another and inspire one another with their content! (always accepting new people btw, give me a dm!) I also give out tips and tricks, and have made some long lasting friendships with people I would’ve never talked to in my life had it not been for randomly dming some people on instagram. Working alone can only take you so far, but sometimes you need that push from someone else on your low days!
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m always looking! Like I said before, I’m a college student, but that doesn’t stop me from working with brands. From small businesses to large companies, I work with everyone as long as they have a good message behind their product. I’ve worked for Fenty Beauty with their anti cyber bullying campaign, L’occitaine body wash for healthier water across the globe, and a couple others! But I’m always open to collabs with anyone and everyone. Lately I’ve been even thinking of some cute ideas to collab with content creators, even when they don’t live in the same state as me. I am always looking for new friends and partners.
