Meet Asha Edouard

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Asha Edouard. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Asha below.

Hi Asha , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
For as long as I can remember, I asked myself this question, however, I realized that my worth ethic comes from my father. My father, Joseph Edouard is an immigrant from Haiti and as a result of his desire to give myself and my siblings a life he never had, he worked tirelessly. Seeing him be dedicated to working and completing projects inspired me to set a goal, see it through and to always finish what I start.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hey y’all. Im Asha. I am a Spiritual Social Worker by training and I serve my community as a full spectrum doula, herbalist, reiki master and womb wellness practitioner. I started In Grace Yoga Therapy after seeing my clients struggle with anxiety symptoms in my former role as a therapist. I believed that there were alternative, mindfulness based strategies which would increase nervous system relaxation. That calling quickly turned into me becoming an ambassador for health and wellness and womens reproductive health. I learned herbs to support menstrual cycles, uterine care and more. This opened this door for me to serve my community as a doula. What I love the most about my journey is my emphasis on community care and love for this work.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Communication, Followthrough and Care. These are the three most important qualities in doing the work of being a healer professionally. Its important to me to note that this work is felt. The healer must embody the qualities that they are trying to teach others. People can feel when you’re faking it and that isn’t good for business. I am not perfecto however, I believe that if we communicate and show up with followthrough we can repair many damages done in our communities. Holding sacred space for women has been so beautiful for me and I could not have done it without care. My advice to anyone starting this journey would be to find something you love and are passionate about and begin serving.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
At this point in my journey, I am seeking collaboration with doulas, midwives, birth assistants etc. I am excited to build my network so I can provide alternate resources for families.
