Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashaya Robinson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ashaya, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I developed my ability to take risk by realizing that this is my page, my life and worrying about what others think about me and what I do is just going to set me back. Firstly the only way I can post without thinking about people judging me is by getting rid of the people who I believe would judge me. Anyone that I didn’t consider a friend I unfollowed them and made sure to take them off as my follower. Then I slowly but surely started making my content on instagram. Instagram was always a place where I was scared to post because on TikTok idc I don’t tend to follow a lot of people that I know in real life on TikTok. But on Instagram I had people from middle school , highschool etc and I knew I had to get rid of them in order for me to confidently post.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I make content about film & tv and pop culture/ celebrities. I specifically talk about the Disney Zombies franchise, Cobra Kai and School Spirits. If you take a look on my account you can tell I also post a lotttt about Xolo Maridueña and Milo Manheim. I’ve gotten so much hate especially for posting about Milo Manheim mainly because I’m “obsessing over a white man”. But honestly I genuinely love making videos about Milo Manheim and all of his projects because I realize that I put a lot of people onto him and his projects. I try not to let any hate get to me because I know what I do on my page isn’t harming anyone and my videos are really funny and informative. Making videos help me actually get up early instead of sleeping in/rotting in my bed. I even dress up for my videos because I don’t tend to go outside too much. Also most of the projects I talk about always have some sort of content/updates and when there isn’t that’s when I get really creative with my content!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I think that the three areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey was the fact that I’ve already met both Milo Manheim & Xolo Maridueña multiple times, that I already watched all/majority of their projects, and the fact that at the time Zombies 4 was about to start shooting and Cobra Kai was still filming. Already knowing Xolo and Milo was helpful because whenever anyone tries to say that “I’m obsessed with a celebrity that doesn’t know I exist” I can always hit them back with the fact that they do know I exist. Since I already watched all/majority of their projects it was easy for me to make creative videos based on their projects from memory. And since I started consistently making videos around the time both Milo and Xolo had projects filming I knew I would be blessed with a lot of content for a while to help me post everyday. The advice I have for folks who are early in their journey is to keep posting it doesn’t matter if you get 200-300 views or less you never know who’s watching in those views , don’t give up just because things aren’t picking up yet.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Believe it or not the person who has been most helpful in helping me overcome challenges that I needed to be successful is Milo Manheim. And I say this because 9 times out of ten if my video blows up it’s a Milo related video right? And I want to say almost all the hate I get is from any of my Milo videos. So I tend to get discouraged from posting videos. Also since Milo knows who I am , it was also very hard to make videos when people are calling me weird. So I kinda start self guessing myself because I’m like, “does Milo think that I’m weird too?” I’m sure that a few of my videos have hit his for you page and since he knows what my face looks like it is scary. But it wasn’t until he had liked one of my videos that went viral and it was lowkey a risky but funny video and once I saw he liked that type of video, I’m like oh okay maybe he doesn’t totally hate/despise me. And it’s not like I making horrible videos of him it’s basically all positive and funny and informative. And as more and more of my videos blow up and the months go by I do get haters in my comments and so then I second guess myself. But then I get a notice from Milo and I’m like okay confirmation that he doesn’t hate me, let me keep posting because honestly some of my videos are just throwing love towards Milo because he’s a lovely, loving person and he’s always making sure to be positive and sending love and I want to be that person that is sending Milo positivity and love and the best way to do that is by making my videos and putting myself out there even if I cringe or if people try to bring me down.
