We recently connected with Ashia George and have shared our conversation below.
Hi ASHIA, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from seemingly always being the under-dog or not being a priority. Growing up in a divorced, single parent home, my biological father told me at the age of 15/16 years old that he could no longer take care of you. My father, my dad, my parent, told a thriving young lady that he had to live for himself. Though i was already an independent child and an only child, that piercing statement made push even harder to stand on my own. Since then, I’ve always kept a job, sometimes 2 0r 3 jobs, had my own place, gotten cars, and just made sure that I didn’t ask anyone for help. I have dealt and experienced things of an adult life in my teenage and 20s that 40 years are just hurdling over. I have battled depression, heartbreak, and betrayal and still continued to push through. There were times I didn’t have a place, car, or even know where my next meal was coming from, but i still pushed through. During the pandemic when given the stimulus check, I utilities those funds to obtain my LLC. God did not give me the spirit of fear, nor does any weapon formed against me shall prosper; therefore, I’m only choosing the strength of on resilience and confidence to conquer any obstacle thrown at me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am the owner of Savage Baby LLC where we create experiences on a budget, but in savage fashion. My company entails ballon arches, personalized chips, sweet treats, and even adult beverages. I chose the name Savage Baby because as a minority, many are looked upon as savages and hell raisers because we are outspoken, resilient and bread winners. But many other ethnicities are willing to take any necessary risk to take care of the families as well, and so will I. And Baby you ask, well I am being that i am an only child, i will always be my mom’s baby, and i am the baby girl out of 13 grandchildren on my maternal side.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities and/or skills that are most impactful are: Persistent, Well-rounded, and Knowledgeable.
I am very determined, hard worker, and persistent young lady. I do not give up easily, even if i am at a stopping point. I am very ambitious, strong willed, and loyal which goes back to be persistent. I refuse to let my foot off the gas.
As far as being well -rounded, I’m a country girl from a little town called Timmonsville. Though I come from a small place, I have been on a plain since the age of 2 years old, travelled by myself at a young age with no fear, my mom made sure we traveled but also instilled the knowledge as well, whether it was from church or reading books. I am definitely the girl that knows Corithians and Cardi B. I am that girl that does mind speaking in front of others or even taking initiative of things. I am the person that can go from the Hood to White House.
I am knowledgeable because i like to do my own research. I do listen to my fellow colleagues that are business owners well, but i like to look further into the information that was given. Things that intrigue me, I don’t have a problem looking into, both personally and professionally.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
I biggest growth area and/or improvement would be advertisement, especially on social media. I used to post every blue moon, now i prost new and old pictures of my product or events weekly. I have been making progress in making reels for Facebook simply to get my name out there. Since improving on my social media post, i have maintained being booked for something every week the entire year of 2024 and now have events booked for 2025.
