Meet Ashlee Butler

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashlee Butler. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Ashlee, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I feel that I get my resilience from the women in my family. Watching them go after their goals, dreams and providing for a family as well as others. Shows me that as someone who comes from such powerful women. That I am able to do it as well.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Hi , so I gotten into Entrepreneurship and Esthetician full time back into 2020. The first part of that journey was me getting my esthetics license. I have always been very passionate about beauty and self-care. It’s what I saw growing up. Moving to Vegas in 2016, I received my first facial. I was greeted with such care and insight on my skin. After seeing my skin healthy, bare and beautiful. I felt the most confident I’ve ever been. That inspired me to look into esthetics schools in my area. Once I found out how much nutrition, science and wellness was really involved. It inspired me to go forward with that career path.

Fast forward to 2020 the pandemic happened and the company I worked for lost their contract. So as I planned to go into esthetics part time because I loved my corporate job. I took that as opportunity to create a new career path for myself. I used those months to study full time and give my all the eduction portion of esthetics. I studied day and night. Took online classes. Because I knew with my faith in GOD and the Universe I was going to be going into esthetics full time.

Fast forward to 2025, I have a successful esthetics practice, I am a licensed aesthetics instructor as well as an education ambassador for a brand in my industry. I had the opportunity last year to start a coaching program for estheticians who also want to go solo but didn’t know how to get there.

They are in the space with me, we do hands on trainings. Provide study materials, while they are in the building phase. They are able to take clients in the treatment room and offer retail services to clients as well. Without the full overhead of being solo.

I am so grateful to be in this space in my life. I don’t ever feel that I am working unless I’m folding laundry or paying overhead.
In Bee and Lorem we over services for the full body while always tiring in that mind, body and soul connection. A place where all are heard, seen and appreciated.

Services are customized facials, full body waxing, brow enhancements and hopefully in 2026 we are bringing in full body sculpting treatments.

The expansion for 2026 is to become an acupuncturist to help clients and myself to better understand the importance of taking care of the nervous system, lymphatic system and wholistic approach for mind, body and soul.

Bee and Lorem was named the way it is. Because once I retire from esthetics. I plan to become a beekeeper. I also heard this quote once. It talked about how bee are so vital to our ecosystem and will work the hardest without asking for a thing in return but care. I feel that’s how a lot of us are in this day and age. Yet we need to take care of ourselves so we can continue to be a positive impact in our own lives and the lives of others.

Lorem is Latin for Therapy. I feel like self care whether that is meeting with a therapist, wellness services, reading a book, working out or even doing a bit investing into your appearance. Are all ways of taking care of self and that is your therapy.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back I would say three qualities would be discipline, a strong commitment to your faith practice and optimism.

Three skills would be proper planning, practicing your craft until it becomes second nature and knowing how to communicate.

Areas of knowledge have been understanding financial literacy and good financial management. Taking the time to understand the why of your industry and not just the how.

Advice I would give is to enjoy the process and journey of it. You do not and will not have it all figured out right away. Biggest thing is shaping yourself grace when stepping into a new territory and life path. It’s easier to enjoy the honey when you aren’t getting stung by every type of resistance that will come your way.

Take classes. I believe in being a forever student and to become better you have to have the humility to know you will not know everything and the confidence to know what can you can try what ever you put your mind too.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed. I like to take a pause and check in with my body. Am I taking big deep belly breaths? Where I feeling stress and tension in my physical body? Do I have time to go workout or get some movement going.

Emotions are energy in motion and somethings need to be moved through to better understand what it is that is needed.

Strategies I like is eating a well balanced meal, taking a nap, journaling if need be. Movement is that one strategy that helps me work through that uncomfortable feeling .
