Hi Ashley, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose as the owner and editor of The Scout Guide Jackson Hole through my shared passion for supporting local businesses and strengthening our community. I recognized the need for a platform that celebrates the incredible entrepreneurs, artisans, and creators that make Jackson Hole so special. Through hard work and dedication, I’ve created a space that connects locals and visitors with the best the area has to offer, while showcasing the stories, craftsmanship, and passion that make our community thrive.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As the owner and editor of The Scout Guide Jackson Hole, I am deeply passionate about supporting our local businesses and showcasing the incredible talent and spirit that define this community. My background in luxury real estate and digital marketing has allowed me to build a platform that connects locals and visitors with the best of what Jackson Hole has to offer—from skilled entrepreneurs and artisans to chefs and artists.
What excites me most about my role is the opportunity to highlight the stories and craftsmanship behind the businesses that make Jackson Hole unique. I love that we’re able to create meaningful connections between these talented individuals and the people who appreciate their work. The Scout Guide isn’t just a guide—it’s a celebration of the creativity and dedication that thrive in our town.
Through my work, I aim to foster a stronger sense of community and to ensure that these businesses receive the recognition they deserve. Whether you’re a longtime local or a first-time visitor, I hope The Scout Guide helps you discover something new and inspiring in Jackson Hole. We’re always exploring new ways to engage with the community, and I’m excited about the ongoing growth of the guide as we continue to share the stories and people that make Jackson Hole such a special place to live and visit.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that had the most impact on my journey were resilience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of relationships.
First, resilience has been key in overcoming the challenges that come with a career in real estate and business. There are always ups and downs, and staying focused on long-term goals while navigating setbacks has been essential. My advice here would be to stay determined, even when things don’t go as planned, and use every experience as a learning opportunity.
Adaptability has also played a huge role. The world of real estate and marketing is constantly evolving, so being open to change and learning new skills has kept me relevant and successful. Whether it’s embracing new technology or adjusting to market shifts, I would encourage anyone starting out to stay flexible and be willing to evolve with the industry.
Lastly, building strong relationships has been foundational. Whether it’s with clients, colleagues, or community members, these connections are invaluable in business. My advice would be to genuinely invest in people—listen, support, and nurture those relationships. They’re often the key to long-term success.
For those early in their journey, I’d say to embrace every challenge, continuously learn and adapt, and always prioritize building meaningful relationships. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but with hard work, resilience, and a focus on people, it’s definitely achievable.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The person who has been most helpful in overcoming challenges and developing the essential skills needed for success is definitely my dad, Tom Evans. He’s been an incredible mentor throughout my real estate career, guiding me with his vast experience and wisdom. From him, I’ve learned the importance of integrity, patience, and maintaining a strong work ethic. He’s always been there to offer advice, whether it’s about navigating a tough market or managing client relationships. His guidance has not only helped me develop the technical skills necessary in real estate, but also the mindset needed to thrive in this industry. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside him, and his influence continues to shape my approach to business and life.
