Ashley , first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Being the most authentic version of myself as much as possible, everywhere possible, is the key for me, and I love it here!
I learned early in life that people will talk about you no matter what you do, good or bad. I’m not perfect. No one is. I’m perfectly flawed, and that’s absolutely okay with me. We only tend to feel bad about ourselves when we believe what others say about us. Who cares what people think? Who is going to be a better version of you than you? I’m not better than anyone either, and I only compete with who I was yesterday.

What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to blend high-quality ingredients into products that truly make people feel good about themselves. Each item is crafted with care and intention, ensuring that our customers experience the best in self-care.
The inspiration behind the product side of Lux Body Care is personal. My son suffered from eczema outbreaks over the years, and I wanted to create more options for his skincare, as well as for others facing similar challenges. This journey motivated me to develop products that are gentle, effective, and safe for sensitive skin.
One thing that sets Lux Body Care apart is our commitment to community awareness on projects that are also of a personal nature. A portion of the proceeds from every single purchase goes towards helping the homeless, feeding senior citizens, and supporting local foster care organizations.
I’m thrilled to share that we have some exciting developments on the horizon. We’re about to launch a new line of seasonal products, including some delightful summer scents that I think our customers will love.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I think three qualities and skills that were most impactful in my journey with Lux Body Care were building customer rapport, delivering excellent customer service, and focusing on customer retention. This strategy applies to any business.
First, building customer rapport is crucial. Getting to know your clients personally allows you to understand their needs and preferences, which helps in creating products that truly resonate with them. It also fosters a sense of trust and loyalty. My advice for those starting out is to engage with your customers genuinely. Listen to their feedback and make them feel valued.
Second, excellent customer service is key. Providing prompt, helpful, and friendly service can turn a one-time buyer into a repeat customer. It’s essential to go the extra mile to ensure your customers are satisfied and feel supported. To improve in this area, always prioritize your customers’ experience and resolve any issues with empathy and efficiency.
Lastly, focus on customer retention. It’s not just about making a sale but about creating lasting relationships with your customers. Implement strategies to keep them coming back, such as loyalty programs, personalized communication, and consistent product quality. For those early in their journey, remember that retaining a customer is often more cost-effective than acquiring a new one, and a loyal customer base is invaluable for long-term success.
By developing these skills—building rapport, delivering excellent service, and retaining customers—you’ll be well on your way to building a successful and sustainable business.
