Hi Ashley, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
When we are younger, we are told we can be anything. And truth be told- never did I imagine taking images + doing films, would be my path. I wanted to be a teacher and veterinarian! When I first started, I had just had my first baby- dealing with the changes that comes with motherhood, I decided I wanted to make other moms and woman feel empowered and beautiful. That unraveled into working with families, doing weddings, working with babies, etc. My purpose is to capture the love, happiness and joy for others. And I think that’s a pretty awesome job!!
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Now that I have moved more towards families + babies: More often than not, us moms are behind the camera chasing our littles and filling up our camera rolls with hundreds of images- which is a beautiful memory, but who’s taking some of us? And I’m not talking about the candid crazy ones, when we’re chasing behind our kids 😂
Maybe it’s because as moms we focus so much on our littles and excited to capture it all. Or maybe it’s because we just don’t love having our photos taken (trust me, Im in leggings and a messy bun 95% of the time!). But either way, it’s so important to make sure that as moms, we’re getting photos taken with our little ones. We promise to make the candid ones memorable for you. Not just only doing beautiful posed photos, but the love between a mommy and your child(ren). These are the photos that we can cherish now, but they will mean so much to our little ones as they get older.
As a mama of 2, I understand. And I’m here to capture their innocent love with mamas, that will make you smile, every. time.
Even if you don’t have child and can’t relate to that, capturing love whether it’s between you and your partner, self love, you and your child(ren), etc, whatever it is, I am here to keep that memory alive. For generations to come.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I think I have some pretty awesome qualities! Who doesn’t love someone who loves LOVE!? The one thing you can count on when working with me, is the love I pour into your sessions and galleries. Along with amazing communication skills, being a total baby lover, making sure that you are comfortable, and so much more.
Working with me, is more than just taking photos- the experience is just as important.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents have done, has been to support me. As a young mom, having the support from your parents is beyond impactful. They have helped watch my kids to work, so I know they are happy and safe! Without them, I definitely would’ve struggled. Thanks mom + dad!!
