Meet Ashley Watson

We were lucky to catch up with Ashley Watson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Ashley with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Where do I get my work ethic from? Growing up in a single-parent household, my dad raised me, and I watched him hustle every single day. He was up early, getting me dressed for daycare, making sure I was ready before he headed off to work. His determination and consistency left a lasting impression on me from a very young age.

At just 9 years old, I had my first ‘job’ as a breakfast helper in my school cafeteria. Every morning, I would wake up early and walk to school so I could get there before anyone else to set up breakfast. Even though I wasn’t paid, I took so much pride in showing up and being accountable. I wanted to be someone others could depend on, even back then.

Looking back, I realize that work ethic has been ingrained in me since the beginning. It’s not just something I learned—it feels like it’s in my DNA. Growing up with limited resources taught me the value of effort and perseverance. I didn’t wait for opportunities to come to me; I created them, no matter how small they seemed at the time.

Now, as an adult, that same drive fuels me in everything I do. Whether it’s my career or personal goals, I’m not afraid of hard work because it’s second nature to me. It’s a trait I’m proud of, and one I hope to pass on to those around me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

As a real estate professional, I’m fortunate to have a career that is not only rewarding but also deeply fulfilling. My role goes beyond helping people buy or sell houses—I’m in the business of making dreams come true by guiding clients on their journey to homeownership and seeing the joy it brings to their lives.

What excites me most about this work is being a trusted resource for my clients. My mission is to provide support in all aspects of real estate, whether it’s finding the perfect home, navigating the selling process, or offering insights into the market. I’m passionate about continually educating myself to be a master in my field, so I can offer expert guidance and deliver quality services.

I lead my business with hard work, consistency, and a commitment to excellence. There’s nothing more rewarding than building relationships, earning trust, and being a part of such a significant milestone in someone’s life. For me, it’s not just about transactions—it’s about creating lasting impacts and putting smiles on faces.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, there are three qualities and experiences that had the most impact on my journey:

Hard Work and Perseverance
My years at The Ohio State University, where I studied to become a dentist, were transformative. Pursuing a rigorous field taught me the value of hard work and the sacrifices needed to accomplish a dream. I had to completely shift my habits and even reconsider the people I surrounded myself with to stay focused on my goals. That experience instilled in me a strong sense of discipline and resilience, qualities that I carry with me to this day.

Commitment to Quality
Working for nine years as a dental technician in a small business was another pivotal part of my journey. The business owner would always say, “You’re only as good as the last product you send out.” That lesson stuck with me—no matter how excellent your work has been in the past, people will always remember the quality of your most recent effort. It reinforced the importance of consistency, attention to detail, and pride in everything I deliver.

Adaptability and Growth
Both experiences taught me the importance of being adaptable and open to growth. Whether it was adjusting my habits to meet the demands of my studies or ensuring that I met the high standards in my work, I learned that success requires continuous self-improvement and the ability to pivot when needed.

These lessons have been invaluable as I’ve built my career in real estate. They shaped my work ethic, my dedication to quality, and my drive to always strive for excellence in everything I do.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I give myself permission to rest and recharge for the remainder of the day. I’m a firm believer in the idea that tomorrow is a new day, full of fresh opportunities to be great. This mindset helps me stay grounded and optimistic, even in challenging moments.

In my field, there are often emotional ups and downs, but I’ve learned not to stress over things I can’t control. If something is within my control, I put in the effort and work tirelessly to achieve the outcome I desire. But if it’s beyond my influence, I focus on doing my best to guide the situation and accept what unfolds.

My advice to anyone feeling overwhelmed is to give yourself grace, focus on what you can control, and trust that every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow. A positive mindset and a little patience can go a long way.
