We recently connected with Ashley Zamora and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley , first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
To stop doubting your skills and talents! This happened personally to me because you have a fear of processing them and then of being a fear of being portrayed as fraud when you’re not! When in all actuality you just feel weird about standing out to other people then you have this thing that is hyper self conscious of how do people perceive me? Right? I will be open and honest. I’m not worried about how people see me on an everyday basis no.. However when it came to something I was passionate before yes I was till I overcame it! How you say?… I conquered my FEARS by just doing the things that scared me the most! Let me tell you how great that felt! OH MAN IT WAS AWESOME AND STILL IS!
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am Ashley Zamora Co-Owner, President & Executive Producer of PBG MUSIC INC and other businesses in Spirituality & Real Estate. Along with my business partner the other Co-Owner my Husband Louis Zamora who is also our first Artist (Phat Bottom Greenery) to the music label/music business. We are always working on new music all the time! We are always looking for events and shows to perform at no what state! We are always in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida & Illinois (Chicago), Nashville This is who we are and what we are doing to expand and get out there! We also love to collaborate with others and send us an email with your talents no matter if music or not!
Phat Bottom Greenery’s answer (louis):
My favorite musicians inspired me at 13 years of age by copying lyrics on paper to recite the words and make them my own. Shortly after this, I started experimenting with writing my lyrics and songs from the heart and mind from the ages of 14-16. Then, at 18, I started to do venues all over and perform live. Then at 19, I started to record at professional studios in Nashville and Chicago and slowly perfected my craft until I was 24. Then I went to California to record and check out other cultures on the west coast. I learned more about productions and music as a whole. I had minor success performing and recording. I made two albums and formed a band for several live projects, all done by me writing, performing the whole production and coming up with ideas until I was 30 years old. I returned for the next few years and won contests, open mics, and more studio time when I was 32 in 2015 after so many years of knowing my wife Ashley since 2006. We got together and then married in 2017. She has shown me what love truly is and to live your life to the fullest & she and I built our businesses and the most current PBG MUSIC INC. We formed this company to build my music, inspire other people, and help humanity as a whole. I love doing Country, rap, hip-hop & all genres. We are all about spiritual healing music is energy, and energy is spiritual. I love spending time with my wife Ashley, our daughter Hailey, our dogs & all family members. We love traveling back and forth to Arizona, Alabama, California, Nashville & Nevada for music & family and worldwide. I write and perform all my songs. At Night I am writing and coming up with songs sometimes overnight! Ask my wife. I always continue until the song is done! My mind is always coming up with new ideas and being creative, and she and I bounce ideas off of each other every day! I love going in and just finishing a song and laying down the track, and recording it! This is my art. It’s what I love to do! Yes, I have struggled to this day. Every day is new, and you learn something all the time. Getting a band together and getting them to show up on time is a huge struggle! Getting everybody on the same rhythm is also tricky. (I like having a band for fun. It helps me stay sharp) I had to learn to work in the studio fast & at a professional pace, time is money, and I didn’t have a lot! I would work overnight and then go in, record & mix after my shifts at work! That’s a huge struggle too! We are just getting started with PBG MUSIC INC, and we are building it from the ground up with my background as a writer, producer & performer. Ashley hands, work ethics are mind blowing she is involved in everything and tackles it all! My wife’s background is all business operations, from running many medical facilities for corporate, non-profit & homeless populations. She also has a spirituality business she also possesses the gift of helping people as a Spiritual Advisor. She is very intuitive and speaks with the afterlife & living to help others in this life achieve the best possible version of themselves while giving readings and spiritual counsel. While also running a real estate business & our music business.
Ashley Zamora President, Executive Producer of PBG MUSIC INC:
The part on my behalf (Ashley) that was a challenge I overcame was building a music business and label knowing nothing about it. I have done everything creating this label on the business side to make sure we are all running smoothing and making sure we register everything correctly from licensing in all areas to create the label/music business and help critique the music (which in someway I was born for this), creating contracts to registering the songs to copyright, lawyers, Distribution companies to music royalties, scheduling and finding venues with my husband etc. It was a challenge that I overcame teaching myself. We will work together to continue to build and offer opportunities to those who come before and after us. Our goals are to help humanity and produce and publish music which is what we are currently working on. We want to reach all populations and eventually bring them on board with our visions for the future and future generations to come!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
We have to be consistent and constantly putting out music and videos and performing shows all over. Louis and I have to be innovative, coming up with new ideas to be successful. Looking at trends and what sets us apart to be different and unique. Our backgrounds really helped us come together he’s a music/artist/spiritual head and I am all business operations/Spiritual head! Together we have put our talents and careers together and we never stop we keep working! To always be yourself and let your talents shine through. To overcome your FEARS they will hold you back in life! Don’t listen to other people when they try to bring you down or detour you!
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
We inspire each other everyday we hold each other accountable and always have each others back! We both share with each other our day to go over it and learn from one others challenges current or past! Our children also help us do this!
