We recently connected with Ashlyn Booth and have shared our conversation below.
Ashlyn, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Developing my confidence and self-esteem was not a simple or easy journey. It was something I had to cultivate out of necessity. Throughout high school, I often felt looked own on and underestimated by my peers. This constant feeling of being overlooked forced me to find inner strength and determination. I truly started focusing on my strengths and passions, surrounding myself with supportive friends and mentors who uplifted me and I learned to view challenges as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Real Fashion Boutique, founded by myself, Ashlyn Booth, is a unique concept housed in a historic building that combines shopping, community, and leisure. My vision stems from my love for fashion and my commitment to empowering women through style. The boutique offers high-quality, affordable clothing designed to make women feel confident and beautiful. My personal style and love for family life inform my curated collections, blending trendiness with comfort and timeless appeal.
Real Fashion Boutique is more than just a store; it is a pivotal part of my innovative concept, The Château, located at 248 N. Main Street. Located on Boerne’s historic Hill Country Mile, The Château is a unique destination that brings together three distinct entities to offer a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. Alongside Real Fashion Boutique, The Château features the Iron Hummingbird clothing store and Platinum Brix Winery, creating a multifaceted space where visitors can shop, sip, and socialize.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
looking back, the three qualities, skills, or area of knowledge that were impactful for opening up a fashion boutique were:
1. A Passion for Fashion: fashion has always been my passion. This deep enthusiasm for style and trends was instrumental in driving the creative vision of the boutique. My love for fashion made it easier to curate collections that were both unique and appealing for our clientele and ensured that I stayed eager and motivated through the challenges and starting a new business.
2. Business Savvy: Understanding the business side of things was crucial. Skills in budgeting, inventory management, and marketing were essential for the smooth operation of the boutique.
3. Networking & Customer Service: Providing exceptional customer service created a loyal customer base and positive word-of-mouth. Building relationships with customers, vendors, and influencers in the fashion industry to create strong network and foster growth. Understanding and responding to customer needs and feedback ensured a personalized shopping experience that kept customers coming back.
Questions #2:
Be prepared to work. The late nights, the tears, the grind that is put into this industry. Becoming an entrepreneur is not as luxury as it seems. You are the face of YOUR business and need to be there 24/7.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
The most helpful factor in overcoming challenges and building the essential skills, qualities, or knowledge I needed to be successful has undoubtedly been the unwavering support and guidance from my mother. Her wisdom and advice have been invaluable, especially during times of uncertainty or difficulty. She has always been my biggest cheerleader, encouraging me to pursue my dreams and helping me develop the resilience and perseverance needed to navigate the complexities of starting and running a business.
