We recently connected with Asia Latrice and have shared our conversation below.
Asia, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I am actually still working through it. It’s definitely a hard thing to overcome. I know I’m talented and have the ability to get where I want to be to reach my goals. I however, have to remind myself daily that I belong and deserve everything I have and will receive because it is for me.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am currently a natural hairstylist at Texture Salon in Buckhead, working towards getting my cosmetology license. I am also a freelance model looking for a new agency to sign with. On June 17th I am co-hosting a photo gallery and live performance show, that I’m extremely excited about. This is my first time literally putting myself on display for people to come see and purchase. The link for ticket purchase is on my Instagram bio.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say self-belief, self-discipline and networking are 3 things that are most impactful in my journey to artistry and entrepreneurship. If you’re early in the game of your perspective field like me, I personally think these are the keys to getting to the next level because to me these are the hardest things to do and stay consistent with. They definitely are for me personally.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am definitely looking to partner and collaborate with Photographers, other models, MUA’s, wardrobe stylists, designers, hairstylists, musicians, brands and companies. If you need a hairstylist, model, or even an assistant, email me at either Contact Info: Cherokeerose.beauty@
