Meet Asia-Miree Thorpe

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Asia-Miree Thorpe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Asia-Miree with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

From the time that I was a little girl, I grew up watching my mom single handedly take care of me and my younger sibling while juggling multiple business endeavors. She went from running her at-home daycare to owning a hair salon to joining network marketing companies, and then finally landed on her coaching and consulting business that she has been building since 2012. Watching her host her own events, book out hotels and offices, sign client after client, and maintain her business for over a decade truly inspired me to be proactive and achieve what I truly desire in life.

And now that I am 22 years old with my own business, I can honestly say that what keeps me going on a daily basis are my desires.

I want my business to be my only source of income.

I want my business to transition from a solo-preneurship to a marketing agency.

I want my business to last far beyond me, even years after I’m gone, taking care of my future generations.

And I know it’ll take proactivity to do that, so I work. In the early morning, sometimes in the afternoons, and definitely late at night.

My desires fuel my work ethic.

And honestly? I think that’s goes for everybody.

When you truly remember the purpose of what you’re doing, it’ll make you go harder!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Asia-Miree and I am a Digital Brand Manager.

Just in case you’re unfamiliar with the term, I basically handle my clients branding, marketing, and content across all of their digital platforms including their websites, emails, social media accounts, and more.

Back in February 2020, right before the pandemic locked everyone in their houses, I quit my job at 17 years old and chose to join forces with my mom, becoming her social media manager.

She hired creators to teach me the ropes, she dedicated some time to teaching me her methodologies, and before we knew it I was pumping out content without needing any guidance.

Now I know what you’re thinking… “is this where her digital brand management story began” and I’m going to say yes and no.

My mom was my very first client, however I didn’t immediately turn to social media management.

I turned to activism.

We all know George Floyd’s story right?

Well that plus all of the police brutality that was sparking in the nation during the time, sparked something in me.

I tapped into my content marketing side and I began to start blogging and podcasting, reporting on things taking place in my neighborhood, interviewing those who experienced racism first hand, and showing public support for go-fund-me’s and fundraising of that nature.

I took it upon myself to become the voice and share stories through my content, and this is where I’d say the content creator in me was born.

From there I started about two clothing businesses in support of my “black lives matter” campaign, and once I started to promote my clothes online that’s where I got into managing all aspects of my social media profile(s).

I began to get onto multiple platforms, measured my metrics, confiscates market research, wrote promo email campaigns, and all of the other things that come with managing a social media account.

And that right there? Is where Asia-Miree, the Digital Brand Manager was born.

Now, I primarily work in the digital marketing realm under my business, Elevate Your Media Now.

My work is strictly done for you.

I analyze my client’s business, taking all of their marketing materials into consideration, studying their past content, exploring their metrics, and becoming clear with their goals.

Then I conduct market & competitor research, and compile all of this information together so that I can strategically map out a marketing plan that’s going to make them stand out online, ultimately drawing their ideal clients to them.

From here they can either hire me for two things:

Content Marketing Management:
With this package client can look forward to me creating & scheduling their content. They can also look forward to me monitoring their content’s metrics.

Social Media Management:
With this package client’s can look forward to me taking the task of social media off of their hands completely! I’ll monitor their page, optimize their profile, create their content, track their metrics, oversee their dms & comments, continuously search for strategies for growth, and so much more!

And of course I offer extra services such as:

Content Strategy Sessions
On-Site Content Shoots
Social Media Audits
Email Copywriting
Blog Copywriting

Website Copywriting

Virtual Assistance

My clients have the opportunity personalize their contract by adding any of my extra services to the package.

My approach ensures that I’m covering every inch of my clients brand that needs attention 🙂

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The number one skill that helped me on my journey was the skill of resilience.

Owning a business is not a walk in the park. There will be ups and downs. There will be time periods in which you don’t have clients. There will be time periods where you question why you’re even doing this at all. And when those doubts start kicking in, or challenges come up against you, being able to fight against them and not give up on yourself is what will make your journey everlasting rather than short lived.

Being optimistic also kept me going.

You can’t want or push for more when you have a negative mindset holding you back.

You have to be hopeful about your future if your business is going to make it to the future because like I said, owning a business is not a walk in the park. And if you can’t see a better future for your business then it won’t happen. So you have to believe in it, be confident about it, and even repeat words of affirmations if you have to. Keep a positive-outgoing mindset surrounding your business, and you’ll get to witness just how far it takes you.

And lastly, but most importantly, having a spirit that craved knowledge, has kept my business standing.

In life, your supposed to always be learning and growing. As you do, your business also will. And it’s not to say, “change your business,” or “shift your expertise,” I’m simply saying that when you have a knowledge-driven spirit your business will never go out of style because it will evolve as the world does, capturing new people in the years to come.

So with that being said, keep learning, keep broadening your knowledge, and keep showcasing your growth in your business.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?

I firmly believe that it’s crucial for business owners to invest effort in improving areas where they may not be as strong, rather than solely focusing on their strengths. Let me explain why.

As an introvert who prefers to be behind the camera working behind the scenes, I dreaded stepping out of my comfort zone to interact with clients in person. However, as a content creator, I soon realized that to truly excel in my field and attract clients who value my services, I had to step onto the scene and become more people-oriented.

My very first content shoot was in Hollywood Florida at my mom’s Client Retreat.

Over the course of that 3-day weekend, I had the opportunity to interact with her clients, assist them in brainstorming content ideas, and record footage of them behind the scenes.

Despite my initial apprehension, I found that immersing myself in this hands-on, client-facing role not only allowed me to break out of my shell but also helped me cultivate valuable interpersonal skills.

Fast forward to now, I’m walking into stores offering free content shoots on the spot with no hesitation!

This willingness to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new challenges has not only fostered personal growth but has also opened up a wider range of opportunities for my business.

So, yes, I firmly advocate for investing effort into improving areas where you may not be as strong. Not only does it lead to personal growth and development, but it also positions your business to thrive by attracting new opportunities and driving success and revenue.
