Aubrea, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys, so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges, and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Creativity is very important for my career and life as a creative entrepreneur. There are so many ways I keep my creativity alive by remembering what I do this for. I remember that this is all fun and inspiring to others who don’t know they can be as creative as they want. I love doing my passion projects to get my creativity out.

I’m Aubrea Thompson, a self-taught photographer/videographer from Harrisburg, PA. I have been growing my visual business for over 5 years with my A. Thompson Visuals brand, hence the ATV. I am a real CreATV. CreATV Studios (pronounced Creative) is my new venture. I have expanded to a 3200-square-foot warehouse, transforming it into a production studio with suites, event spacing, podcasting, and much more. We are located at 1592 S 19th Street, Harrisburg, PA. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The 3 qualities that are most impactful to my journey are discipline, self-awareness, and innovation.
These 3 qualities are essential when starting your journey; you must be very self-aware when starting anything, as you are the tribe leader to it all. You are the one to show up, and you must know whether this is for you. This is where discipline takes place as well. There will be days when you want to quit, but you cannot because this is YOUR destiny and purpose. The importance of innovation in an industry that is constantly moving and going at a rapid speed every day, so continually thinking of new ideas and new ways to show your brand is the best is what innovation is all about.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My most significant area of growth is my mindset. I am currently working with a team, and learning to become a better leader has been my most significant area of growth. The important part of being an entrepreneur is pivoting through adversity. I have been in situations where I am celebrating a call of landing a big job and receiving another call of something falling apart. My mindset has allowed me to keep going despite the adversity and make sure everything is okay, especially with my team relying on me, my brand relying on me, and me relying on myself.
