Meet Audrey Allen

We recently connected with Audrey Allen and have shared our conversation below.

Audrey, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed my confidence and self esteem through fitness by training like an athlete.

I have always struggled with low self-esteem and a lack of self-confidence, particularly when it came to playing sports in high school and college. There were times when I would walk around with my head down, feeling afraid to make eye contact when speaking to others. As an athlete, I was hesitant to showcase my full potential due to my own insecurities and lack of confidence. I feared judgment and negativity from others, which held me back from giving my all.

Despite these challenges, my passion for fitness and health remained strong. I knew I had a knack for exercise and a good understanding of kinesiology, which inspired me to pursue certification as a personal trainer. Starting out, I was unsure of where my career in personal training would take me. However, as I delved deeper into kinesiology and furthered my education, my knowledge grew, and I honed my skills as a fitness trainer.

My goal was clear – to bring out the best in people, boost their self-esteem, and enhance their self-confidence through my training style. I often observed women in the gym struggling with confidence issues, feeling lost and unsure of what to do. I could relate to their feelings of intimidation by others who appeared more advanced in their fitness journey. This inspired me to find ways to help these women become the best versions of themselves.

Drawing on my experiences as a collegiate athlete and the mindset that comes with it, I aimed to tap into the inner athlete within each individual. I wanted to instill a belief in my clients that they could achieve anything they set their minds to. By adopting an athletic approach to training, I encouraged my clients to push themselves beyond their limits and embrace challenges, both in and out of the gym.

As a trainer, I strive to empower my clients to believe in their potential and capabilities. My “train like an athlete” philosophy is not just about physical fitness, but also about building the mindset and determination needed to succeed in all aspects of life. I have personally experienced the impact of low self-esteem and lack of confidence on pursuing goals, and it is my mission to help others overcome these barriers and cultivate a strong sense of self-assurance.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As a seasoned trainer with over a decade of experience, I have had the privilege of helping hundreds of individuals achieve their fitness goals. My ultimate mission is to empower as many women as possible to unleash their inner athlete, as I firmly believe that athletic-style training can bring out the best in everyone. In my philosophy, I advocate for training individuals to excel in their own unique ways, emphasizing that everyone possesses the potential to be an athlete in their own right.

My approach to training extends beyond the physical realm, aiming to support individuals in achieving success outside of the gym by fostering self-esteem and self-confidence. Through my tailored training methods, I have witnessed transformative changes in people’s lives, ranging from weight loss and improved health to enhanced functionality and overall well-being. I work with clients spanning various age groups, from teenagers to individuals in their 65s and beyond, ensuring that each person receives personalized attention and modifications as needed.

At my facility, I strive to instill a sense of athleticism in all those who walk through the doors, regardless of their prior athletic background. My goal is to positively impact individuals’ lives, guiding them towards a brighter and healthier future. The success stories I have witnessed extend far beyond mere weight loss, encompassing improved physical health, enhanced confidence, and the pursuit of personal and professional goals. Many of my clients have gone on to pursue higher education, secure promotions, start businesses, and achieve personal milestones they once thought were out of reach.

These stories underscore the profound impact that fitness and training can have on all aspects of our lives, inspiring individuals to unlock their full potential and pursue their dreams with confidence and determination.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Collegiate Athlete-Here, I learned how to overcome obstacles and be a better version of myself and believe I can accomplish anything.

Teacher/coach- I have developed the ability to understand and empathize with people’s emotions and self-perceptions, and I have successfully translated this awareness into an athlete’s mindset. Drawing from my personal experiences in overcoming challenges, I have honed the skill of instilling an athlete’s mindset in my clients.

Trustworthiness- My clients and members have faith and confidence in me, knowing that I will consistently support them during challenging times in their fitness journey or any other aspect of their lives.

My top advice for individuals starting their journey is to discover their unique strengths and identity, and authentically be themselves. While there may be critics along the way, it is important to stay true to yourself. As long as you remain respectful, kind, and genuine, everything else will naturally align.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes, I am seeking professionals in the health and wellness industries who share similar values and approaches. I am eager to engage with individuals who offer unique perspectives that differ from my own, with the intention of learning and exploring potential business collaborations. I am open to networking with respectful individuals, regardless of gender.

As part of my mission to assist more black and brown women in embracing healthier lifestyles, I am particularly interested in connecting with women of color. By joining forces, we can work together to make a positive impact in this area of the world.
